After witnessing the irrational element at the derby this year I have no doubt the idiots would inevitably spoil it for the rest.

No one asked you to get involved, if you don't like it just ignore it

With the nature of transfer fees, I'm sure it's happend a few times.

In fact, would Flo, Schwartz and Hutchinson would have been our top three signings at one point?

Never played on the pitch together though. Flo didn't sign till 02-03 by which time Hutch had left

Im sure the F.A would do something stupidly ridiculous to stop it happening, but you can imagine it being absoloute carnage  can you imagine both sets of fans walking up wembley way?

There's nothing they could do, if we were the last two teams left they couldn't stop the fixture going ahead

trafalguar square the night before could be tasty

There'd be nee Sunderland fans ganning to Wembley anyway cos the NYPD will have brayed us all.

I mean like ticket allocations would no doubt be reduced to the minimum allowed (if they are allowed to do that) but even then trains would be a nightmare

It nearly happened in the mid 1950's - 54/55 IIRC. We lost in the SF to Man City and they went on to win the cup.

We got to the SF the next year too, beating the Mags 2-0 at Sid James on the way (QF's) despite having suffered two losses in the league to them (including a heavy 6-1 loss at RP). Lost to Brum who we beat twice in the league that year. Me dad was at Hillsbrough for the SF. The 50's were very much a case of "nearly" for SAFC.

I think the transportation and streets around Wembley would probably be flashpoints for major trouble. Shame really cos it would be one hell of a fixture.

not really the case against newcastle. alot of normal fans would get involved if it kicked off, people who would never usually get in bother at football. certainly not just the 'firms'

I can comment on a thread with my opinion, getting involved in trouble myself has nothing to do we me thinking there would be hell on if the two of us ever got to a final against each other.

Football violence is patheitc as far as I see it.

It will have happened, probably a few times. We broke the world transfer regularly throughout our history and in the 1920's I think we broke it twice. Of course we had the BOE days in the 50's and therefore Shack, Ford and AN Other would have played.

nice one, cheers. I assumed we might have managed to play our three top signings together during the BOE days, but wasnt 100% sure- still, the first time for quite a while if they all get on the pitch tonight!

Thinking about it as well, it would have been Flo, Reyna and Thome at one point. They must have been on the pitch at the same time. Interesting question though.

I'm still chuckling a bit at the OP, it would be ridiculous and almost impossible to police.
