there was no escort and I didn't say there was. It was me and my mate eddy (we were 14) and we told a copper we were newcastle fans after hearing the blaydon races & he took the 2 of us to the paddock you pleb

Given the amount of garbage you've spouted on this Board time and time again, I admire your brass neck in calling someone other than yourself a pleb.

I was in the ivy that day. smashed a few glasses then were on thier toes...

I was told by someone who worked there that it was the Grems - they were over the moon when the Polis turned up and only when they were under escort did they complain that they were being picked on and were just having a pre-match drink.

came in telling everyone to fuck off. i was arnly about 20 and had a full pint so I wasn't leaving the ****. Started smashing galsses etc, then by the time I necked me pint it seemed to be all over. How I remember it anyway...

Im 37 years old, have worked around the north east and have never met a newcastle fan who wasnt at this game

Iv never met a boro fan who saw them play home games at hartlepools ground either

funny that, i've never met a sunderland fan who wasn't at maine road and everyone that goes to the stadium of shite now used to go to every game at joker park, even though you were only getting about 18,000 in there before it fell doon

I was at a party at xmas. One of the other guests was a copper, a high ranking one who is high profile. I don't know him, he was a relative of the host. He told me that a few years ago the Necastle hooligans organised a trip to the Ivy House on a derby day. He says the plod were taken by surprise when they received a phone call from a terrified Sunderland fan begging them to send loads of police to the Ivy because Newcastles firm were going wild.

To cut a long story short, the call was traced to one of the well known Newcastle hooligans mobile phone. They had turned up by stealth to get some headlines and had started to panic when they heard that their Sunderland cousins were on the way to meet them, but no police had arrived to surround the pub.

That tells me everything I need to know about how these arseholes think and behave. All propoganda and no action.

I was at a party at new year and was talking to an ex copper who used to work at joker park. To cut a long story short he said that whenever the toon used to come to wearside they used to take the piss big style & the mackems that were around at that time would freely admit that the geordies were walking all over them on their own turf and there was nothing they could do to stop it. He joked that in years to come the new generation of mackems that weren't even at said incidents would try and re write history via the net & make the whole world believe that none of the above happened. He even told me that one day there were hundreds of mags in the fullwell end singing "united".....

Ditto mag fans pre-Keegan.

See below. You make it up as you go along. It's quite sad really. Are you desperate for attention or something? You spout regular garbage...I recall one about Sunderland having the lowest crowd in the PL against Wigan. etc etc. I can;t be bothered to go through all your posts. I'll die of boredom.

just showing you that anyone can spout shite and pass it off as gospel pleb...oops sorry blep, and why do I give a shit how old you are?

did your imaginery mate also tell you about the double decker full of Sunderland fans who were arrested trying to get to the Ivy? and I think another 100 or so at the pub while the mags shit themsleves inside

the BIG difference is that Roker Park was nestled in a nice middle class type area, next to the beach whereas Scum Park is slap bang in the middle of the city.

having lived in Roker between 63 and 78 i can remember the scum coming thru and playing footy on the beach and taking over local boozers but cant ever remember it happening in the town ??

at least they had the balls to get inside, when was the last time your lot took over a pub in newcastle? Or had hundreds in the gallowgate end for a derby? Its so easy for your lot now to say "the mags shit themselves" "the mags knew they had made a big mistake" "we were trying to get over the fences but the police wouldn't let us near them" yadda yadda yadda

its been known for years they sneaked in to a students pub and called the police themselves

Hey Strawberry - according to the polis I was talking to the Newcastle hooligans are known by the police for for adopting the approach of making a noise then calling plod to ensure they are wrapped up beforwe things get bad. They even grassed themselves travelling in a lorry or something and they got stopped on the motorway in a big propoganada scoop - dont know if they were playing us or Boro as it was a conversation that bored me shitless to be honest. Just remembered it when I read this thread.

The Fulwell??? All talk, no action. My graddaughter can shout United then climb a fence. I remember us doing much more at Boro in the 70's on the Holgate and nobody even mentions it - it's just not important. Did you lads ever get on the Holgate? A much bigger challenge than NUFC ever were in my opinion.

You are quite funny - probably a hooligan.

did they not call the polis themselves from the adelphi after central station hibs incident years ago and pretend to be members of the public?

surely it would be easy for lads to go early to a pub in say Jesmond or Fenham and do the same, but what's the point ??

i don't think anyone disputes that in the late 60's {when it really seemed to start - the reports of the 68 August BH game are horrendous followed by the Good Friday game 70 where bags of tools were found and displayed} and the 70's, the mags used to come thru in large numbers that no one else brought - not even league winners, cup winners etc.

even for daft testimonials and texaco games, theyd bring 1-2000 and run amok, but the fact is the location of the ground helped - if RP had been centre of town, it would probably have been a lot different.

my recollection as a young un was that a lot wore those white butcher coats and loads of them seemed to be blokes as against daft teenagers

76-77 the 2-2 draw was the biggest away following I've ever seen at RP and TBF, I cant recall us taking as many thru to skunk park as they brought thru that day - probably about 10,000 ???

newcastle used to treat an away game at RP like Sunderland used to at Boro.

from what I remember of this match, it was a sunny day. The mags were dotted about in the roker with the gillingham. I can remember some gremlins being close to the main stand paddocks, unless I'm getting mixed up with another match. There was some conversation through the railings with one of their lot (from gateshead) who was enquiring about how a gremlin from shields had got a silver medal against one of our mates in a previous incident. There was some coin throwing at the final whistle. There was a canny few mags through. It was that Cascarino who sent us down I think. What a laugh we had the following season though. It was a cake-walk.

aye its been known "on wearside" for years....just like it was "known" that mags didn't take the fullwell. That was not a student pub then, no way (altho it might be now)
