Got to get diallo on, and get back to our recent formation, we are getting caught on the ball as there’s no options to hit.

Getting pressed so get in behind them and move it quick.

Boro deservedly 1-0 up IMO, they’ve played with more intensity and threatened more. We’ve looked scared, sloppy in possession and have a few players hiding and not taking chances. Only Batth and ONien can take any sort of credit. Pritchard should’ve buried his chance though, why the fuck didn’t he take a touch?

Their one up front is dominating, because he’s holding it up and they are playing off him. Simms isn’t doing it, but we’ve not got players up with him or getting ahead of him.

Has Roberts even had a kick? Neil is getting overran.

Should’ve had a clear penalty though.

We're a better side than these like. Not the best half. You can see what they're gonna do, park the bus and hit us on the break. Still hopeful. HTL

Losing Stewart is a big miss, but most of the problem is when we lost him, minutes before kick off. We were set up to play with two strikers, brought Roberts in who is quality out wide, but looks lost in that role. It has unbalanced our whole setup going forward. Then with Jones getting the better of Clarke constantly and putting pressure on Cirkin, it has pulled the whole team all over the place, leaving us totally lost.

A day to prepare without Stewart and we would have been much better

1-0 down away from home and the whole team needs subbed and if Mowbray doesn’t fix it at half time then he is shit too or something like that.
People on here really can’t get used to every game not being a must win mind. We’re gonna lose more than we win this season - and that doesn’t mean we won’t have had a good season:lol:

I know what you mean but if your looking for rational debate you won't find it in the middle of a match thread when we are getting beat ha
The match thread is just people celebrating, ranting etc, never understand why some posters think it should be anything else.
You don't turn to the crowd at the SOL when they scream and say, "honestly chaps, let's not be bed wetters".

Thoughts on that half:

- Annoying having to change shape minutes before a game so was likely going to be a slow start.

- Game pace seems higher than it has been recently and it doesnt really suit us much.

- Sloppy in possesion and press isn't triggering right. Not sure if this is tactical or because Stewart is nornally the initial trigger point.

- Mowbray is inexperienced with a back 3. Can understand him wanting to keep things the same as it has been but with us struggling it will be best to change to back 4 and go back to basics. Double up on Jones on that right hand side (Clarke really struggling with him).

- Not sure personal needs changing now but 433 for first 15 and see where we are at.

Wasn’t terrible. They’re just a little bit more physical - and a bit nastier - than we are. Also we’re suffering from the disruption with the team. Still a fairly even game. Shame evans lost it twice in the buildup to the goal. Also Mowatt lucky to be on the pitch on early impression. Looked a deliberate ankle stamp to me.
It was his second foul as well iirc

Boro look decent, move the ball around well, good shape and good in possession. Don’t look great though and we’re still in it despite their numerous chances.

We look like a team who just lost their best player and main goal threat and are struggling to adjust. That doesn’t exclude our extremely sloppy possession. Pritchard chance was big moment and turning point. Defending is decent though and their are hints of a threat when we move it forward quickly.

1-1 is maybe the best we can hope for.
I don’t like their formation. Like they are playing the Christmas tree. Everyone is playing in the centre

We'll get nothing out of this clown.
We've been poor with the passing, giving the ball away far too often.
Pritchard should have scored with his eyes closed. Terrible from him really.
We surely can't play any worse second half.
Boro look shit. We've gifted them their chances.
Missing Stewart.

Sounds mental but he really protects and helps our midfield. The amount of work he does up top running (particularly alongside Simms) drags midfielders and defenders about and gives our midfielders that fraction of a second longer they need. When our midfield are hassled by their opponents who aren’t worried about what’s happening behind they really, really struggle. It happened last season even in league one.

Stewart and Simms as a front two is so important to us like
