*~*~* Sunderland v Blackburn match thread *~*~*

TM needs to earn his bread now. Fortune has favoured us but we can’t have another 45 minutes like that.

We’ve played like an U10s team. No one wanting to defend or hold the shape and everyone wanting to rush forward.
Apart from the first 15 mins we have been in control.

I'm doubtful that Ballard will come out second half which would be a massive worry. He seemed to be restricted in his running after being clattered by their keeper. I'll be very interested to see on the highlights whether the keeper fouled Ballard because my immediate thoughts were penalty. The commentator guessed that the keeper got the ball.
I think he was moving a little better by the end. But I won't be surprised if he doesn't come out.

I think he has done alright too. Some decent play with his back to goal and seems to be growing into the match.

Don't really think he's done much at all yet. Couple of touches here and there - been occasions where Clarke could have played him in but didnt and a few times over the last few games Pritchard has and his first touch has done him no favours.

He's just feeling his way in and is very much a work in progress by the looks of things. I'd like to see him get a clear cut chance or two tbh.

Not sure we can get through this game without defensive midfield help for Dan Neil . Would Triantis be mobile enough to help in midfield ,seems to have the ability on the ball .

He is but bit worrying we’re putting too much emphasis into a 17 year old, both physically and mentally. Need to make sure we rest him properly and things or he’ll be burnt out by October
Very good point that.
I wasn't even expecting him to start many games this season, never mind being the lynchpin of the team
