We needed to shift players out to free up some cash for wages of incoming players.
Even if other clubs are skint they weren’t lumbered with our legacy problems.

The bit where the lass is saying how she really hopes we win and how it will be such a lift to everyone connected to the club. Rodders is sitting next to her and just about manages to drag his head up out of his phone as we kick off
Probably would have been out for another couple of months if he had.I saw that. Amazed he could be arsed to lift his head up.
Have been reading a few tweets from around the world of people who watched, ranging from Swedish, German, Japanese, Canadian, Polish etc have had to use the translate button to see what they are saying actually a lot of them have been quite flattering about us

It does on my phone.second quote is very nice, but the first one - what made you choose that, it er, doesn't relate to us!!
I actually thought the series was kind to him. Anybody unaware of the situation wouldn’t have realised the severity of it.
Considering it was made by Sunderland fans ( I think ) they could have really hammered him.
Found that part of it strange, I would have crucified him on it.
They should bring out a 9th episode with all the outtakes and a bit more scandal. The series as a whole could and should of been more brutal.
Getting towards the end of it now. As others have said it’s amazing how many matches seem to be erased from the memory, couldn’t tell you one thing that happened in some of them especially the home matches from about February/March onwards. They all just seem to blend into one shit show.
What I do remember from at the time rather than things that happened in the matches, is the constant feeling of blowing yet another lifeline at home deemed ‘our last chance’ immeditaly following a half positive result away. The blind hope and optimism in the pub pre match that surely this time we’ll capitalise, that always turned out being deflated as fuck again post match saying we’ve had it now. Barnsley home after Forest away, Brentford at home after Bristol City away, Villa at home after Millwall away and of course the worst of all Sheff Wed at home after Derby away spring to mind.
Just saw the bit where Grabban is being a smarmy little cunt about scoring against us for Villa, what a wanker he comes across as in his cameos in this.

Grayson after shaking Williams hand when he just signed has to be the funniest moment for me. Literally shakes his hand says "well done" (well done for what?) then turns his back and walks away.
For surviving the handshake.
