I don’t know but I would be surprised if those businesses owned the properties. Will be leases.

They will be so you’d need to acquire the freehold based on the value of the lease. You’d then have to wait until leases expire or buy them out. Which would be exceptionally expensive as businesses would want compensation to relocate.
Redeveloping Monkwearmouth Station in to the main gateway into town would fit in with the whole redevelopment of that area. A lot of cheaper than throwing more money into the hole in the ground over the water.

Totally agree and I too have suggested that before. Think the council do own most of that area in sheepfolds.

Looks class, nice to see all that glass and a high roof, let plenty of light in. Be interesting to see platform level though, guessing there's not a lot they can do about that.
