Do people think that we are a better team than Anderlecht? I am not too sure but my guess is that despite them playing in the Belgian league and us in the EPL they are at least our equal.

Lukaku was their best player by 2 miles and scored for fun in that league. Our goal is to be bettet than Anderlecht is we' re not there already.

They were both 22-23 when they played in Belgium.
Certainly Jelavic was rubbish in that period, but it was his first experience outside his home country. To be honest : I couldn't see him making a career the way he did afterwards.
Ba was better, but if you would have suggested at that time that he would become a Chelsea player, I would have my doubts on your mental capabilities, but things went very good for them.
On the other hand : I never had any doubts that players like Fellaini, Mignolet, Kompany,Dembele... would make it in the PL.
I doubt if Hazard is going to live up to the expectations that they have in him

I'm not going to say that Juhasz is going to make it at Sunderland (if he makes the move) but he certainly has a good chance.

That said : if you want a hint for a good Belgian young player : Siebe Schrijvers, only 16, and a player of KRC Genk, keep track of him.

Note : I'm not a fan of Anderlecht nor KRC Genk, so I'm not advertising for them.My team is Cercle Brugge who are almost condemned to relegate...

We know that feeling all too well, welcome to the club, didn't take you long to pick up Shite did it.

Lukaku their best player?
Yeah right

To be honest, I don't mind that much, better to relegate than to take high financial risks.

Informative post. Cheers.

Paxton. Definitely Paxton.
^ Aye, 'im.

If I see people saying that Juhasz isn't even good enough for the Belgian league, I can understand the feeling, but I really have to make a few remarks.

First of all : Juhasz was a first 11 player in the past years and very rarely missed a match for Anderlecht, it's just that he can't get along with the new team manager for some reason.

Another fact : Jelavic wasn't good enough for a mid-table team (Zulte-Waregem) in the Belgian league, and Demba Ba was a little more than average for Mouscron. It didn't stop them from being successful in the PL, I guess.

I've seen a lot of Juhasz matches for Anderlecht and he's a solid defender
Don't pay 2,500,000£ for him, but I expect the fee to be 800,000£ max, and for that money you will have a sobre, decent defender with good heading abilities.
No more, but no less either. I would expect him to become a first 11 player.
On an information roll. Cheers again.

not getting at you mate but from your post i would say yes , anyway if he signs lets hope he cuts the mustard

So I didn't put my faith in anyone. I merely wondered which one was more worthy of any faith I may choose to invest. ;)

amazing. finally someone on here who knows what he's talking about. You're welcome back anytime :-D

At the risk of sounding like a racist knacker I've never been a great fan of foreign centre backs overall, but add in he would be shot straight into the squad, due to it being January, I get the vibe it would be a bad idea. e.g. Just hoping it's not another Da Silva moment. We'll see.

So basically no better than what we've got/had in recent years.

Baresi would have got in our team

Most of the best CB in the world past and present are foreign. Fact.

I don't think I've ever read anything as ridiculous on the SMB. Seriously.
