Its almost like one of those mass hysteria events, but being played out online.

I am far from happy with where we are, but a few weeks ago the majority wanted Jack Ross gone. Now he has gone and it appears ‘we’ have already condemned the new manager, even though he hasn’t been chosen or appointed yet.

A couple of months ago from my perspective there wasn’t any takeover or investment in sight - I will be disappointed if it doesn’t happen, but we will be in no worse a position than we were back then, and I wasn’t screaming about it then.

I used to think I was a pessimist.

it is mass hysteria, a couple of months ago there was no takeover but then there was and now no one knows if there is or there isn't, this has caused so much damage to the goodwill that had built up around the owners. JR getting the boot is the next part of the hysteria as so many expected Big Sam or a Mourinho type to be installed to the new billionaire status club, it's a clusterfuck of a mess and could and should have been dealt with as soon as that podcast was released....

It looks like they are trying to make as much cash as they can without too much thought about the future prospects of SAFC. Bob, the Irish lads and Short tried to move the club on to new owners they thought would be for the long term benefit of SAFC without too much concern on how much money they made on the deal.
Genuine question...

How do you come to this conclusion?

Donald and co!

How they’ve managed to clear the decks of historic failures while being a kick away from a (shite) cup and promotion is incredible. Rodwell, kone, dilly etc.

Managed to drive season ticket sales to a higher level than in the championship!

To have the club, In a position where billionaires are interesting in buying us is unbelievable! All this talk of Donald ruining a deal. We probably wouldn’t have a club if it wasn’t for these guys. And to think we are now abusing them, personally, makes me sick. It’s utterly pathetic. Have a word.

We look like a bunch of absolutely spoilt brats. Any fan outside this area would put us in the same bracket as Newcastle fans. No greater insult.

We have already put ourselves in the same bracket.... don’t need anybody else’s help.
To many people not happy unless they have something to moan about.

I agree they shouldn't be getting abused and have probably done a good job off the pitch, although too much smoke and mirrors for anyone to honestly know how good a job they've done. However, a football club exists for what it does on the pitch and this is the area they've failed at so far and are now at a crossroads where they need to make one of the most important appointments in our history. And yet, it's looking like we're going for a cheap option in someone with a poor record who the vast majority of fans who've answered polls, don't want. They're gambling with the future of the club and that's without speculating on what has gone on with the investment/turnover saga.
The honeymoon period is over, they have to deliver, and quickly. They can't live on what they've allegedly done off the pitch financially, forever.

Forever, It’s taken me longer to pay off a catalogue shopping purchase

Can we not even criticize them now? The recruitment has been poor and the appointments have been terrible. From a football side of things they have been terrible. They have no plan or philosophy or structure on how they want the club to progress on the pitch. Until they do I will continue to criticize them.

That's 1 way to put it marra, I like you believe SD has the clubs best interests at heart after all its why Mr Short agreed to sign the club over to him.

Let’s all applaud Mr Short for being the biggest failure by any measure in the history of the club

I think the areas you mentioned are fair game. The football side of it you can see with your own eyes and formulate your own opinions based on your own expectations.

If he appoints Phil Parkinson his days are numbered and rightly so. He will ha e done everything possible to stabilize the club firmly in league one for the foreseeable future

Reet then, I'll try this again...

I can't agree with the @Wardley Makem. In fact it's extremely rare that I do. And I take exception to myself or anyone else being called a spoilt brat for questioning the resources, motives, and decision making of our wonderful overlords. I can fully understand where some people might have a different view of things, and I'll happily debate, but what I can't swallow is someone so constantly obsequious to the club and owners having a go at supposedly fellow fans for not towing the line.

So you accuse them, on multiple occasions, of not being very bright?

I think that one of the things some people struggle with is that our "overlords' as you put them have no legal obligation to disclose anything to us.

By all means question but when you either don't get or don't like the answers don't make allegateions that can't be proven.

I like SD, him and Methven have done a lot of good work stabilising the club and although he can be clumsy at times, I've always given him the benefit of the doubt and thought he was in it for the right reasons.

But having said that, the story about the parachute payments and the purchase of the club seemed to change every time he was asked. You could forgive minor details but the version he gave in May clearly contradicted what he'd said in the beginning.

He's contradicted himself so many times on the podcasts or skirted around answers and left question marks. He's came off Twitter 3 times now - the first time on 'holiday' just before the biggest games of the season, the other two citing abuse that nobody has any evidence of - but each time big stories have broken just before or after which paint him in a negative light.

I want to give him the benefit of the doubt still but you can understand why some are putting two and two together.

I think that’s fair enough.

I'm not here on a fan's forum for answers marra.

I was hoping to see us going down the route of signing young players, bring lads in from the academy, scouting the non-leagues, League of Ireland, Scotland and across Europe. I hoped to have a squad of about 20 players with most on the right side of 28. Also link up with the junior sides in and around the area to help the academy. If it took us 3 years to get promoted so be it but at least we have a long term sustainable plan in place.

So far we done the opposite. We've done pretty much what we have been doing for the last 10 years.

Good post mate.

However, the only thing I would say perhaps Mr Donald and Mr Methven put too much emphasise on social media. In the 'real' world I do not get much anti owner sentiment. In social media world the 1% of idiots can have the same effect as 99% of sensible fans. Im sure Mr Donald and Mr Methven appreciate that but if I had opportunity to chat to them I would remind them of that and put the disgusting threats and insults into perspective - some are without doubt mags and wums anyway.

Final point. We under estimate the power of the 'establishment' in the North East. The mags and the newcastle mafia press are are seething at the potential new investment possibly coming our way....they will do anything to put a spoke in our wheel...the amount of sh+te been stirred against us as supporters, the club and owners can not be over estimated. Our fans need to be wary of this when reading newspaper reports and watching local tv etc.

Anyway enough...fingers crossed we can get the MSD deal over the line asap and can get a manager in to get us up this season
