Hahahahaha. Aye the billionaire from Texas formed a great friendship with the Eastleigh owner

Ellis Short popped into Stewarts insurance company one day for some cover for his Lear jet, a cuppa and a few custard creams later and Stewart has a football club.

I'm as big and passionate a fan as any of the fuckers who try to shoot you down with that kind of shit ! It's just their only trick to make them look like uber 'fans'
I agree. I’m just responding with my back against the wall. Loads of negatives. Also loads of positives. I don’t have rose tinted glasses on, I just accept that a lot of good has happened in the last 12 months

He's explained it, I heard it, and parts of it differed to Methven's version. Like I said, until it's cleared up properly, there's going to be conjecture as to what exactly has gone on. I choose to keep an open mind.

Which part differed because from my memory CM has never spoken about it in depth as it was mainly Stewart in control of that deal since he has the major stake in the football club.

Let's wait and see what happens with the managerial appointment and the failed takeover which has been downgraded to an investment opportunity before lavishing them with undue praise.

I think they have the clubs best interests at heart.

I don’t believe everything the Sun says.

I’m saying their failures have led to us spending another season in this god awful division, where we now sit 9th. If you think they’re suddenly going to make good decisions on the footballing side then we’re going to disagree, because what seems clear to me is that their actions at Eastleigh and in the last 16 or so months here provide no evidence of any improvement any time soon.

However, I hope to god I’m wrong.

I do think that they did everything they could to try and get us out of this division last season. Like I said earlier, selling Maja was a mistake which in hindsight cost us promotion. However they did replace him with a player who had always scored goals at this level.

Their only major footballing mistake imo was allowing Ross to last beyond the play off final. Possibly they became too close to the manager, i'm sure if true then thats something they won't repeat.

Not mates. I’m the same business circles. Dell and co would be no where near the lads of it wasn’t for Charlie
I don't doubt the Dell lads wouldn't be anywhere near us unless of Charlie but he's also the reason Donald got anywhere near us. Both cases are the same.

Everything is great, honest.

Getting a bit sick of these people thinking everything is great and if you don't agree then you're compared to acting like them up the road. Remove your head from your arse and look around.

We're a bang average league one side after spending unprecedented amounts for this level. We have no scouting system in place and our academy sides (Inc U23s) arent doing well.

Make us sustainable instead of haemorrhaging money the way we were previously, try to get us promoted, bring in investors for when we're in the Championship to get us back into the Premier League, get us near the top where we belong.

Had to do the first bit because they couldn't afford not to. Failed on the second bit last season and allowed the manager to continue after blowing a major opportunity to do so. Scatter gun approach to signings hasn't exactly improved those chances ! For this to work for him assuming he sees a long term future is to get this club by the scruff of the neck and shake it up ! Get rid of his lackies and jobs for the boys and remember what someone said 'the piss taking stops now'

No, I'm the same business circles!

Is your "in" key not working?

That's three times now you've missed it out of a post on the same thread! ;)

CM has gone into depth about it a few times, mainly around how it was structured and the parachute payments and how it's only a paper debt etc. Quite a bit different to what Donald has said.

And I will react when someone asks 'are you a fan' and it hasn't been all good in the last 12 months and some of the football has been turgid even for the most loyal of fans
