Sunderland fans! Hew!

Well yeah this is the way it is at the moment. You have to blindly support the club, if you criticise or question decisions or motives because you care and are concerned, you're a mag.
I'm as big and passionate a fan as any of the fuckers who try to shoot you down with that kind of shit ! It's just their only trick to make them look like uber 'fans'

Disagree with you fella!I hope i am allowed to do that?I personally think you need to calm down and cast a rational eye on what donald and co have actually done ,both positive and negative! It would help if you could say if they have done anything wrong or have they made no mistakes in your eyes?

Not sacking Ross in the summer. He didn’t deserve to get sacked , but something didn’t seem right.

Behind the scenes structure. I’m reluctant to overly criticise because they had to strip it all back. But I think this summer should have seem a lot off off field appointments. Probably a dof.

I wonder how low we have to go before some people would dare to criticise the owners for making bad footballing/contract/transfer decisions

12th? 15th? 20th? Where’s your line?

They did their part last season, did what they thought was best for the club. Selling Maja was a mistake, SD admitted to that. He did replace Maja with what was Ross's number 1 striker target. They've turned the club around to the point we're even being looked at for investment. They've made mistakes, they've both admitted to that. Whats really annoying is that all of a sudden we've become a fanbase of mass hysteria, with fans who dish out abuse to an owner based on some shite article in the Sun of all papers. The behaviour of some of our fans has been Mag like to say the very least.

By all means question them, but whats the point in even asking the question when people aren't even taking the response they are getting at face vaule? Calling them all sorts and saying they don't have the clubs best interest at heart when they literally have not a shred of evidence to prove otherwise.

Thing is mate all these assumptions and people, especially on here, take these assumptions as gospel then they get all hysterical.

People are understandably worried but its pathetic the way some are going on.

I agree, a lot of it's uncalled for. Look I've said numerous times before, I like Donald and Methven, but that doesn't mean they're beyond criticism. I desperately want to see them succeed and do well, but Wardley is talking about strategic plans etc. I'm really none the wiser, what plan?

Our transfer dealings have been scattergun, we haven't developed a style of play and the fans have received little in return for their continued loyalty. I think we've been extremely patient considering how poor the football has been.

Too much smoke and mirrors?

You must be f***ing kidding??? We've had the most open chairman in the league and we've blown it because whatever he says gets torn to shreds. 18 months ago we had the silence that was Ellis Short. Show me another owner who does 3/4 fan podcasts a year, talk ins with fans, travels to away games with branches, goes in the away end with fans etc.
But being open and drinking with fans doesn’t win you promotion. Appointing a good manager and having good scouting does. Podcasts don’t win promotion

What is the current board's 'strategic' plan ?

Make us sustainable instead of haemorrhaging money the way we were previously, try to get us promoted, bring in investors for when we're in the Championship to get us back into the Premier League, get us near the top where we belong.

As I said, the smoke and mirrors refers to the financial side, no-one honestly knows what has gone in with all the loans, parachute payments, how Ellis got paid, money to Madrox etc etc. Until that gets cleared up properly, and I don't just mean siding with whoever's view you prefer, then we'll see exactly how well they've done or not.

I’m not the one criticising the club and owners without any information. I’m defending the club and owner outlet based on the facts
You are not though. What facts have you used? You are entitled to your opinion as is everyone else. Abuse is a no no but make no mistake, you are using ‘facts’ as told by people who have changed their ‘facts’ from time to time.

They know that aswell and will have been just as disappointed as all of us that it didn't work out with Ross. I'm not sure what you'e getting at? I was replying to someone who was saying they put up smoke and mirrors around the club so no one really knows whats going on but thats not the case at all.

Nail on the head.

It was explained over about a 20 minute period in one of the podcasts over the summer. If people want to listen to it and then choose not to believe it thats their perogative but he's explained it multiple times now.

Nothing wrong with questioning, but that's not what a lot of folks on here are doing, they're making assumptions and acting like tits based on those assumptions.

He's explained it, I heard it, and parts of it differed to Methven's version. Like I said, until it's cleared up properly, there's going to be conjecture as to what exactly has gone on. I choose to keep an open mind.

I think they have the clubs best interests at heart.

I don’t believe everything the Sun says.

I’m saying their failures have led to us spending another season in this god awful division, where we now sit 9th. If you think they’re suddenly going to make good decisions on the footballing side then we’re going to disagree, because what seems clear to me is that their actions at Eastleigh and in the last 16 or so months here provide no evidence of any improvement any time soon.

However, I hope to god I’m wrong.
