And, despite pretty generous away allocations, it happens most games at the SoL - even more so, when we were in the PL.
Does it? With the exceptions of Man Utd, Liverpool and the mags most clubs we’ve played in recent years haven’t even sold out their allocation let alone had the need to sit in the home end. It might happen the odd game but I’ve only encountered away fans in our end on very rare occasions.

In home areas - there's more to the ground than the South Stand, although I did have a couple of Liverpool fans in the row behind me in the South Stand a few years back (when the away fans were in the SWC).
I don't frequent the South Stand.

A non North East accent is rare enough, never mind an identifiable away fan.

Because its a designated neutral area and not a designated home fans only stand.
Fair enough but it doesn't stop "home" fans mixing with "away" fans which is, I would have thought, what they would be worried about

Disgrace....

Sunderland fans desperate to see the club's promotion push have been stopped from buying tickets for home areas at Saturday's game at AFC Wimbledon.
The Black Cats quickly sold out their allocation of 735 tickets for the League One clash at The Cherry Red Records Stadium, which has the smallest capacity in the Football League.

Told you this would happen.
They did the same to us. Not on data base then they would not supply.
You need to get wise to it with the smaller clubs in league one.

A lot of clubs will probably do it, can’t see many of us who would be happy with people sitting in our end celebrating if we were getting battered.

I’ve done it before mind, didn’t enjoy it one bit.

Quite true. I’ve done it but sat on my hands when we’ve scored. Unlike the arseholes from Liverpool who are regularly ejected from the SoL when sitting in the home end.

free ticket iirc

when were away fans ever in the SWC?

It was about ten years ago. I may have misremembered - most of the them were probably in the half of the South Stand closest to the SWC. The point remains - there were Liverpool fans in the row behind us, and it's not the only time I've had away fans in the vicinity. If the away end isn't selling out, I don't understand why you'd want to do it. The point I'm making is that, despite our ground regulations, it's not uncommon for away fans at the SoL to try (and succeed) to do exactly what we were trying to do at Wimbledon.

Genuine question; Would the London branch and exiles be able to fill that entire allocation?

Absolutely.

Same here, only ever seen Liverpool fans in our end and considering they probably have 1000's of fans up in the NE it's hardly surprising.
