Empire's inside is beautiful though. Don't care about comparisons (since I'm not from Sunderland).
it is mate, has a much bigger capacity also, just looks poor from the outside

Yet the Empire get all the west end shows as the stage at the Royal is too small for them. Oh and fuck off!prefer the theatre royal tbh, looks magnificent when all lit up, the empire to me just looks like a old bingo hall

I'm the same 6ft3 and I always try for aisle seats at the empireI haven’t been to a theatre in this country yet which has enough legroom for a 6ft 3in lad. Makes the night uncomfortable like.
They get some good gigs the empire like, fair play

Morrissey was on stage, Slaven was standing next to us looking remarkably like him.

It's a massively underrated venue imo.I ave been to a number of West End theaters over the years and most of them don't come within a mile of the Sunderland Empire.
That Barlow fella, sold out two nights in under two hours, popular lad by the looks of it, could be a good night to be in the Dun Cow I reckon, there won't be a dry seat in the house......massive queues outside this morning
