So the most unpopular government since the 1920's would have survived if Gordon Brown had been removed. New Labour were the worst administration this country has seen for many, many years. If an election was called now the Tories would walk it - 100+ seat majority. Even with all the controversy surrounding the cuts, tuition fees etc an OPS poll today has Labour and the Tories tied on 36 points.

labour would of won the last election if another but gordon brown had been in charge

call and election now and labour would win,

tories couldnt even beat gordon brown

Take out Scotland, Wales and the North East and see how many Labour MP's you've got.

don't intend to be rude, but can we keep this local?

Sunderland Council need to give themselves a shake...

... actually, it's Sunderland that need to give the council a shake(up)

Because they don't give a flying fuck about this city or the people that live in it, you only have to look at the city centre for proof of that, 1 in 5 shops empty, and city centre is getting smaller and smaller, I think there is an ulterior motive somewhere down the line, my opinion is they are getting paid to run this city into the ground so everybody has to go to Tynsnide to do their shopping, it's certainly going that way, the people of Sunderland need to get the red blinkers off, and vote for a party that will do something for the place, the Labour party obviously doesn't, and they've been at the helm for about 50 years, lets have the lib dems in, they've done wonders at Durham and Newcastle, even Seaham harbour is getting more investment than Sunderland FFS.

You honestly think there's a conspiracy to get people to shop in Newcastle rather than Sunderland?

What other reason can there be to be running Sunderland city centre into the ground then ? come on, lets hear it, and while your on, explain to me why Sunderland council put two and a half million quid in Dalton park shopping centre that's in County Durham when it's own shopping centre is dying on it's arse, please enlighten me, come on, don't be embarrassed, I'm longing to hear this one.

Is that true:eek:

They did, they built a f***ing fountain that used to freeze up in the bad weather and had to be turned off for health and safety reasons.

My mate has been de-selected by the party as not a fit person to be a councillor, he'll piss it if he stands as an independent but as he said to me all he'd be then is a voice in the f***ing wilderness.
Party politics eh.

The internal plumbing was world class though!

I'm sure there's a multitude but sitting there in a tin foil hat muttering about conspiracies isn't one of them.

The shopkeeping fraternity of Sunderland city centre have long given up trying to get answers from the shower of shit that calls itself Sunderland City council, you obviously thinks we all just arrived last week and set business, you really haven't a clue about the situation, just like your mate listless narative, when you've been around town and spoken to all the shop owners about their concerns then make your comment, untill then keep your clueless thoughts to yourself.

Hopefully nothing a numb twat like you would want, but you also have shown what a two faced turncoat you are by choosing to do your shopping in Leeds as you've quoted, instead of showing some support for the shops where you live, and if what you wanted wasn't available here I hear you cry, then ask your council buddies why there's been a lack of investment in the city to such an extent that we'll be lucky to persuade anyone to invest here ever again, but with any luck David Cameron will put you and your mates out of work, as he's determined to rid us of people who do sweet fa for a living, we'll see if you can afford to go to Leeds to do your shopping then.

Said I'd been to Leeds, didn't say I'd been shopping there.;)
What is it you think I do for a living and why would David Cameron have any influence?
On numerous occasions I have tried to offer advice but you would rather hurl abuse and blame others for your predicament. Is it any wonder that you don't get answers from the council if this is the way you behave?
I am more than happy to support local businesses however I am not prepared to line the pockets of Businessmen who are too lazy or greedy to ensure they provide what the public wants.
I'm equally happy for the council to spend money re-generating the city centre however I am not happy for that money to be spent on supporting businesses that are not viable.

Visiting one of your relatives or one of your bent council mates in jail no doubt.

A study was commissioned in 2007 which showed that of the £1.6 Billion in disposable income the people of Sunderland generate every year, £1.3 Billion is spent in Newcastle and The Metrocentre while only £300 million is spent in our own shops. So Sunderland City Centre is currently operating at around one fifth of its true potential - while the City of Newcastle is doing very, very well out of Sunderland.

Is that true:eek:

Yes, like I say it's in county Durham, there's definitely a rabbit away somewhere, and it would be nice to get to the bottom of it, some people just like to make smartarse remarks about tin foil hats instead of taking any notice of what's happening around them, hardly any wonder they're clueless.

What makes you think I know anyone who works for the council?
I've tried to address the issues you are having but you persist with the insults and blaming the council.
How far has this approach got you? Do you find it works?
As an aside, how often do you visit cities like Leeds, Newcastle, London etc?

TBF it's not them with the failing business.
