Sadly Sunderland folk are programmed at birth to Vote Labour no matter what their policy. It's a crying shame that these people get in year after year, they know they are 100% safe and so don't give a shit about the City.

In any other city florence would be out on her ear. Writing anti sunderland shite on her facebook, constantly bigging up newcastle. All she gets is a bit of graffiti on her wall. Detesteable bitch

if Seaham f***ing harbour can get investment then there can only be one reason they are not investing in Sunderland city centre, which has a bigger population to cater for, and would bring more money in than Seaham.

Seaham f***ing Harbour has been neglected for years and years and years mate. It still lags a country mile behind Sunlun. The vast majority of the money invested in Seaham over the last 5-10 years has all been private...

Has anyone got anything constructive to say? We're not a Tory area, never will be, but not sure who will help the area out. Just discussing last weekend how they've made a p1gs ar5e of South Shields front redevelopment. Where do the councillors come from? Do we need more active local people (never mind the party)? I'm in.

Why not start a Facebook campaign to get her voted out.......that would be ironic

i will never vote labour.

but who do i vote for? went libdems last time and that got f***ing nowhere. when is the next local election? i might go on a spray paint graffiti rampage around the town. dont tell them it was me though. anyone think of anything short, witty and to the point to write?

not really up on sunderland councillors these days, i moved away about 9 years ago, but sounds like nowts changed ! rumour has it certain councillors were buying up worthless farmland (this is twenty years ago) along the cliffs going towards grangetown and ryhope, the very land the new bypass road was built on, and compulsory purchased from the owners at vastly inflated prices, prices set by..... well, you get the drift.

the common sense consensus seems to be "let's not vote for labour"

however, as much as I'm anti-this-council myself, for whom should the Sunderland populous actually vote for instead?

I feel the Tories are still suffering from the legacy left (in the eyes of many) by Thatcher.

The Lib Dems may be a better alternative. After all, they got into Newcastle council chambers after decades of Labour control, didn't they?

The problem in getting shot of this Labour lot might actually be the number of alternative candidates. If there was just ONE other choice, he'd probably get in.

With Lib Dems and Tories (nationally, at least) getting equal billing, so-to-speak, there may not be enough support in one party to oust the twats.

I'm pleased to see what's happened to Seaham over the past 5 years or so.It's good to see the place flourishing & yes it may be a country mile behind us but at least it's making progress mate even if it is through private investment
Every time I go there there seems to be something new built/opening as opposed to here in Sunderland where something new closes every time you visit.

Even from there I could still see that you talk shite

Oh be quiet and go play with your toys you CLUELESS IDIOT !!!

You're the buffoon who thinks our councillors are secretly working for Tyneside

Seriously if I were you (glad I'm not) I would keep my head down for a while after that statement

Our councillors ARE tyneside. If we were countries it would be called a puppet government and the UN would be looking into it

why don't they spend a fortune on the sea front, make it a good place to eat and drink...?

And where do you suggest the Council suddenly find this "fortune" you speak of?

Magic beans perhaps?

Or shouldn't private investment pay for such developments rather than everyone's council tax getting hiked up to pay for it?

Everyone uses the seafront do I don't see any reason why they can't be charged in their council tax

Didn't you read what someone else posted about them all being dyed in the wool black and white fuckers picked by a Tyneside council, you are an absolute clown, spent too much time writing computer software no doubt that has no bearing whatsoever with the living of real life and being able to spot a rabbit away, like why did Sunderland council put money into Dalton park shopping centre when it's own shopping centre is dying on it's arse, explain that one away smartarse, just because you might have worked for the tax office doesn't mean you know everything, in fact you know fuck all, denying the country is in £4.8 trillion in debt, and accusing the Times newspaper of sensationalizing things, the same newspaper that has the Financial Times, I think they'll know a lot more than you you BUFFOON........
