I know its very early but I need help in arranging a boat for about 20 people for one of the days and not being local I'm finding it very difficult.
Does anyone know of someone who does this or can give sensible suggestions on possible leads

Like one poster said try Sunderland Yacht Club or the Wear Boating Association. Don't bother asking the Marina tho, I used to work there and they don't do owt like that.
  11. I'm always spelling canoe wrong mate. ;)

This could be the last one! rumour has it that this will be the 25th and last show. It brings money into the city but mainly to traders not to the council who have big costs to cover the same issue as the illuminations a few years back.

There may be restrictions on place about boats, the planes generally fly over the sea to avoid killing anyone if they go down, can't imagine they'd let boats below them within a certain distance.

There's loads of boat about on the airshow day, I've been on board for 3 airshows at Sunderland and every time we were right above people on boats. Think the restrictions were only around the display line, and the boats were further out but when the aircraft turn they go over them.

One of the lads at work who owns his own boat as he goes sailing, etc does this every year. He said it's the only way to view the Airshow.
