Sunderland AFC U18s


The academy been one of the bright spots in an underwhelming season at first team level. The emergence of Rigg and getting Watson, Ogunsuyi and Matty Young on pro deals all excellent for the club and now being capped off with the recent form of the u21s.

Well done to all the winners tonight, hopefully no surprises like last year with scholarships (Cotcher) but looks like most of those who have been stepping up from the u16s have got recognition for their hard work. Best of luck to those who didn’t get a deal.

Holcroft (cb) , lightfoot (lb) , Hunt (cm) , Neild (cm) Finn not even attempting to spell his surname (cf) , Neill (cf) . Then Strunk (cm) and the lad from Southampton who I think is a left back. Possitions I’ve put are just where I’ve seen them play or read so could be wrong. Missing a couple of names. Anyone know if a right back signed? Feel like it’s really short there next season but have 3 left backs if I’m right.

I've no problem with Dodds as a coach. So I'm fine with him being there. He's not a manager though

George Bell right back, injured at the moment. Also Felix Scott & Charlie Dinsdale both forwards.
