Sunderland AFC Ladies

I was wondering what was happening after losing a couple of first team regulars. Are they just consolidating now there's no chance of promotion and looking to next year with younger players?

We'll struggle to attract players as we're an isolated, semi-professional team. I mentioned it earlier but the sooner we incorporate professional positions in the squad (even a hybrid pro / semi-pro set-up with 50/50 split would be a start) then we'll always struggle in this department.
Durham are professional and it's, understandably, much easier to get a player to agree to a move if they're getting a proper salary for 1.5-2 years and they've signed a couple of players so far (from Coventry and RoI). What we also struggle with, and it's been pointed out by Mel, is not having a WSL club on our doorstep. For example, Lewes and Watford managed to get a couple of loans from Brighton and Arsenal respectively. Of course, there's other NW and London-located WSL powerhouses that can help their Championship neighbours.
