My own hatred for the bloke reached a nadir last season when we looked dead and buried. his wife was bragging on twitter about gifts from his agent as they were blatantly sounding out other clubs.

The bloke doesnt give a shit if we win, lose or go down. He's an absolute cancer on this club.

The usual stupendous lack of self awareness. I wouldn't be able to look myself in the mirror of a morning if I'd been as shit at my job for as long as he's been.

You might say it's his money, but the problem here is it's money that's been given to him by our football club in return for precious little. It's a shame contracts don't work both ways - he'd be driving a Lada.

Got to agree with this!! Some right jealous people out there and it eats them alive.
Completely this, would be interesting to see how many folk on here genuinely believe they are performing to the best of their ability every day at work and on the days they don't do they go to their boss and request they dock their salary

Put 100% effort in for every ball, every chance.
And there we have it again. The small time attitude that we can forgive lack of ability for running around. He'd still be shit and drive a Lamborghini if he ran around like Kevin Kyle every week.
Good players are talented and have fantastic work ethic and desire. Steven Fletcher isn't particularly very good because he lacks all of these attributes not just some of them. That's why he plays for us along with all the other average Joes.

Lets face it, the timing wasn't exactly well thought through was it.

If he had scored twenty goals this season he still wouldn't have been worth the money though, it's obscene.
For every Suarez there's 100 overpaid, average players in this league. Are we going to put embargoes on what they all spend their money on now are we?
Exactly. Peoples problem is with the organisation pumping the money in.

No disagreeing with that but had it been any other person not in the public eye nobody would say anything. Not defending Fletcher he's an embarrassment to the profession but that stems from the absolute sitter he missed at Wembley not what motor he's driving.

The average Premier League wage is approaching £40k a week these days isn't it? None of these players are gonna drive a Ford Focus. I think sometimes people underestimate how much these players are on. We kept hearing about Phil Bardsley being on top dollar when in reality he was on the average wage, because he's an average player. And we replaced him with a worse player for more money. We all know the money involved in football and while we may not agree with it, there's nowt we can do about it.
It's weird. It's as if people have just realised the sort of gear you can buy, with the amount of cash that premier league players receive.

Bardsley signed for Stoke as a free agent too. So it's possible that he's on even more than Fletcher these days.

How can Steven Fletcher do what Luis Suarez did?

Obviously goals wise he couldn't but I'm referring to the desire, work-rate and sheer will to win that Suarez showed last season. I'd say that most of us would think a double figure goals tally and 100% commitment in EVERY game would be a reasonable return for a £12m striker on around £2.5m/year.......then he could pose alongside a new Bugatti Veyron dressed in leather chaps slipping @rocky a crippler for all I cared.

Is there any shock this club keeps posting loses, when under performing fuckers like fletcher can own cars like that.

Stoke don't pay massive wages, from the few stokies I talk to Coates offers higher signing on fee and wages based on performance rather than nailed on massive f***ing fat wages we seem to dish out to any fucker.

Nearly mickey grey Turning up at the aol in a new Italian super car just before relegation and people losing jobs.

Difference is dock my wages and I can't feed family dock this fucker wages he'd cry to another club get a move get a bumper signing on fee and the same wages. You really can't even compare real world to footballing world, he gets paid to kick a ball about and he's been shit at it for two years.

Total nonsense, should do loads of work for charity, awful, stupid car as well, don't forget you can only do 70 mph

Don't mind him buying the car but don't stick it on Twitter or cup ya lugs when you score a goal after a couple of months of nowt.

Showing his wealth off reminds me of David Gold, who I detest for always making sure his helicopter is in shot when he is interviewd at his home.

He hasn't got the work rate or desire of Luis Suarez though so it's a moot point. Work rate and desire are a big part of a players make up. He doesn't have that in him. He'll score a couple of goals every now and then and then be a passenger for weeks or months. That's the player that Steven Fletcher is. It's no good asking him to be something he isn't to justify his reasons for buying a Lamborghini. I don't like it either but that's who he is. I'll be glad when he's gone, like most on here.

If we were winning, nobody would care. Nobody.

It is faux outrage at its finest and another attempt by the gutter press to drive a wedge between player and fan. The reaction on here, for the most part would suggest they had succeeded.

£50k a week isn't a massive wage.

Stoke paid more in wages than us in 2013. In the latest set of accounts we pay more. So they are paying their players similar amounts to us.

Again, the issue is with the people who are pumping these obscene amounts in.
