I've never rated him.

I remember when we signed him and McCarthy said he'd given O'Neill a character reference that Fletcher was a great lad.

It's a strange mentality from Sunderland fans. Using the wages in football to slate a player when they're doing badly.

They should want to prove themselves for self-standards and professionalism, not to justify the wages they earn.

Hardly his fault he gets paid obscene amounts of money.

What's he supposed to do when he's playing badly like, give it all away to charity?

Obviously a big thread so I imagine that I'm repeating what others have already said but the obvious answer(s) to your question (with an unbelievable 34 likes!) in order of importance for me are:

* Keep a low profile
* Show a bit of humility
* Up his game to actually earn what he's being paid

I don't expect the fucker to hand the money back (although that wouldn't be a bad idea) but he ought to be concentrating his energies on the rather more pressing matter of our club's position. He's behaving like he has his own personal lifeboat on the Titanic whilst the rest of us (steerage) sink to a watery grave... ill judged at best; complete bell in reality.

Let's face it, 99% of us are jealous of PL footballers getting paid 50k+ a week to kick a ball about for 90 minutes - there's just no need to be so bitter about it.

It's his money so he can do as he pleases, some people need to get a life and stop caring about it so much.

You say that as if you think people define their very existence around being jealous of shit overpaid footballers.

This is unlikely.

Who gives a fuck? He doesn't. I don't understand why people get themselves in to a frenzy over this kind if shite? If you were in his position, would you turn down that kind of money and buy and Ford Fiesta to drive around in, or would you live the playboy lifestyle? It would be the latter for 99% of everybody on here.

He can buy and drive what ever car he want's, he still remains a bald jock piss pot, that's skiving a wage and laughing at the people paying that wage.

Just look at that smug face..... Regardless of the car, that's enough on its own to make me want to cave his head in. He's a lucky, lucky man but with no sign of humility amongst his numerous talents.

I have no problem with his car, he's just a been a bit shit for years. I'd like him better if he just shaved his head and buckled down instead of getting a hair transplant and playing poor ever since.

Any player earning more than 5k a week is over paid. TV money has turned the game into a business and made footballers fair game to have a pop at it just so happens Fletcher is shit at his job and as we pay his wages we are entitled to highlight this but in the interests of fairness everyone on the payroll are shite at their jobs even the tea lady.

When we compete and a win the odd game that lass makes a great cup of chad and fletcher can get his ears pinned for all I care.

it's his money, good on him and he can spend it how he wants. i'd be chuffed at owning a car like that but it might have been better for him not to flaunt it.
it's a good example of how little connection there is between most of todays footballers and the fans.

It's not Steven Fletcher's fault. If the club are paying him that then fair play, he's doing a brilliant job for a great wage. He should be showing more I agree but you can't blame him for the ridiculous amount of money in the game.

I dont blame him I just don't agree with it he might have a brilliant job but he's not worth a great wage on current performance he's not worth minimum wage.

He's not worth it you're right. PL footballers aren't worth what they're paid but in that aspect he shouldn't be singled out. We could get lower paid players from the lower leagues who would be more value for money but that wouldn't really improve our situation.

That's the thing for me too - he's obviously thick as mince, shallow as fuck, badly managed by his 'people' - or most likely, all three !

I actually feel a bit sorry for the prick to be honest
