Its got nothing to do with jealousy. what its got to do with are people, who are perceived as not doing their jobs properly, cupping their ears when they score once every 6 months, taking the piss. If he had scored 15 goals this season and we were doing ok, nobody would say a word.

Exactly. I'm not jealous of him, I have a fantastic life and envy no one. That doesn't mean I can't comment when a below average professional footballer with an attitude problem towards his own fans appears on social media apparently flaunting wealth which he clearly hasn't earned.

The sooner he leaves Sunderland the better. Hopefully there'll be a few more which will follow him, and we can start ridding our club of the poison which seems to have infected SAFC since we returned to the Premier League.

I just think we forget that it should be a huge honour to put our shirt on and go out and play. We don't have the greatest history in the world but it's not f***ing bad- it's also not bad to say you once played for us. Whoever you are, wherever you're from. We forget that sometimes I think. We're far bigger than any ego. We aren't defined by any one person. We're good people, bound to our club by something intangible. If players we fund wanna buy a big car, well, crack on. You better play well next time.

A lot of jealous people on here. The lad is working for his money, he is lucky enough to be in an extraordinary job. It's his business what he does with that money. People (some) on here are either jealous because they're not on the dole (because people on the dole get loads of money) or else they're jealous because someone earns more than them. It really makes them look childish, worry about yourselves, leave others alone.
Well I make loads of money and I think he's a useless ****.

This. The amount of money this club has sunk into the non scoring, ear cupping waste of space is a f***ing disgrace and I can't wait till we are rid of him.

I have no problem with people earning big money. The key word though is EARNING.

At SAFC too many players are being paid far to money for what they actually WORK to EARN.

Fletcher and some of the other non entities at SAFC may well be rich financially, but they aren't rich in achievement.

He didnt flaunt it...he didnt post the picture..

How do you know he didn't? I don't know either way, so my use of the word is legitimate.
Because i have seen the original twitter feed when it was on here last week..

Still if folk want to use every possible opportunity to slag folk off who am i to stop them..

Me too, but that proves nothing. Unless Fletcher explicitly asked for the photo not to be put on Twitter then it looks like he's flaunting it. Like I said, we don't know, so my use of the word 'apparently' is fair.

He's still a useless Premier League footballer though. I can say that without fear.

f***ing hell man...his sister takes a picture and you think he should make her sign a contract....

???

in the opening post:

"...Fletcher posed with the car which was parked just inches from his Bentley Continental GT..."

Looking at the photo, are you now suggesting he took a family snap which somebody then revealed to the world? - A private photo not intended to be seen by the hardworking supporters who have no right to pass criticism on an overpaid footballer who was once called "Mr Relegation" most likely based on his actual input to his team(s)?

His sister took it and posted it on his Twitter .....feel free if you want to castigate him for it.....

I have no idea what your point is..

Agreed, he's a a top striker. He deserves it.

Is this a joke?

By posting what you did I hope you realize that a lot of footballers are thick as shit, and in this case he might actually believe what you are saying?

The reality being that these days a lot of footballers are out of touch but get fed shite by their agents who forget to tell them they are just a money making machine for these agents who usually can blag their way into these footballers lives with a case of expensive red wine or free holidays to Dubai pretending they are mates of the daft footballer and his wife/girlfriend

"Earning their pay/wages" should be the norm but with footballers it is no longer the case. Some of these footballers are so dense they actually believe they're really important and/or an asset!

....I have no idea what your point is..

honestly?

I'd be very surprised if he was still here next season, looks surplus to requirements. He was never worth 12 million, a terrible footballer and even worse attitude.
