Summer signings to take us to the next level

Fuck me, I wouldn't sell Mignolet.

I'd keep him on our books but loan him out to give him experience for a full year.

Keep Gordon and Westwood then sign a cheap old keeper to get us by for the year Mignolet is out on loan.

Gordon and Westwood have proved to be good keepers at this level as has Mignolet but with Mignolet's age I'd loan him out as he is very young and would benefit more from being out on loan and would imrpove him instead of being on the bench.

If O'Neill thinks Mignolet is his number 1 then fair enough but I still think Gordon is our best keeper.
He's a Belgian international goalkeeper you moron. Why would we lend him or why would he go on loan.

Are you really a Sunderland supporter? Have you ever watched football or did your mam tell you about it?

Pig sick of this moronic shit from people who are supposed to be Sunderland fans. Maybe your a f***ing Mag in disguise.

The question is what is the current level of this squad.

If you extrapolate the form over the whole season

Under Bruce-Relegation

Under MON-Champions League
Thank you. Finally someone who can see that the teem is almost there. We need new signings every year as does everyone to keep progressing but to start again just because we lost on wednesday is moronic.

I still cant get over that Mag on here suggesting we should loan the Belgian international keeper to frigging Aldershot.

We have some clowns supporting us.

Here's an idea - how about supporting the lads and getting behind them instead of slagging them off and replacing them, just because youre upset we lost on Wednesday.

Clowns.

Given how much personal money Short has already invested and therefore the implied and expected restrictions on transfer spending, I cannot see Sunderland making another step up with MON as manager.

MON like Moyes is a great manager if you want stability as a mid-table premiership club.

He is not the kind of manager who is going to go make excellent bargain signings from outside the British Isles.

And signing quality players from German and Spanish mid-table teams and top French teams is the only way to improve on a budget; ironically enough the Mags have laid down the blueprint to the path Sunderland should follow if they want to go to the next level.

Fuck me.

I'm not saying loan him out to Aldershot.
I'm saying in my opinion he isn't our best keeper so instead of having hm sitting on the bench doing nothing send him out on loan to a low prem team or a high Championship side.

That'll benefit him more than sitting on our bench every week.

We have 3 good keepers at our club so by loaning Mignolet out for a season he won't stagnate on our bench.

Have Gordon and Westwood fighting for number 1 spot here and have Mignolet out on loan so can benefit from playing week in week out.

I can understand people not agreeing with what i'm saying but atleast f***ing understand what i'm saying.

Ba, Cissie, Caybey ,Tiote, Ben Arfa , .....all had no Prem experience and look at them and the spot they are in within 2 years so i dont know why you have to have played in the prem and thats have a team and they all cost less then Andy Carroll,

for all Newcastle are wankers there buiness plan is something to be looked at ,they had Ba on 35k a week and it bonuses that they make the money on and they seem to keep the players happy and ship the trouble makers out sharpish..

Eljero Elia did well at Hamburg. Don't know his current status.

Glad that it's MON Managing and not half the fookers on here. It's simple. We need two strikers. Gyan will be sold; hopefully during a bidding war in the UAE (which is likely). We need to be looking abroad if we want good strikers for good money. We also need a LW/RW for competition, and at this rate at RW instead of Larsson as he has been as useful as a chocolate fire guard since MON took over. Apart from that, it is a full back for competition, and that is all really. Ok, it isn't simple, but not a massive rebuilding job!

Given a choice by the manager I'd say Fallaini, however I imagine the chances of that will be slim. Everton would be crazy to let him go.

I'm still uncertain of what 'the next level' is. We're a mid table / lower top half Premier League club at the moment. With the current squad, we're likely to remain at, more or less, this level. Is the next level being better than all of the other mid table teams, or competing with Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs for a Champions League place?

If it's the former, someone (or two) like Defoe, Bent or Pogrebnyak(sp?), plus someone in midfield who is better at putting their foot on the ball and picking a pass than the current CMs is probably sufficient to do this (if Colback carries on developing at the rate he is, this could be him).

If 'the next level' is competing for the CL, then, apart from whoever is in goal and Sess, plus, possibly, Colback, O'Shea and McClean, everyone else is in the reserves as, good players though they are, they're not, collectively, CL material.

People just dont get it, we cant afford to get to the next level, this is our level now. Looking at pushing for 7th place maybe 6th at a very push. After that you have Man Utd, Chelsea, Man City, Spurs and Arsenal who are all working on a different planet to us when it comes to money

People just need to accept that we going to be a decent midtable outfit who could maybe push for 7th place and have a good cup run now and again

All this talk about next level is delusional and is only going to leave you disappointed

for us i would call 'the next level' being good enough to finish around where we will this season consistantly, finishing in the 8-11 ball park for a few years on the trot and always feeling we are in with a shot of europe, be that through a league finish or cup final or win.

signings i would quite like...

up top fletcher, moses, zaha, agbonlahor, saha maybe a good shout, lukaku on loan from chelsea perhaps

midfield jarvis, phillips, huddlestone,

defence shawcross, cuellar, hutton, taiwo, roger johnson

all would add something to the squad, all available/affordable within reason, if we signed 2 or 3 of these players i think it would shore up the squad pretty well, obviously depending on outgoings...

really need full backs

I think it's shown recently that it's hard to play through us, but easier to go wide and play around us. We're poor at stopping crosses in these areas.

We need to tighten up. We're not far away
