Summer signings to take us to the next level

If we keep losing this type of money every year marra, it will sharp catch up with us.

Spending £110 million with a turnover of £79 million. It just simply cant continue.

There is going to be a time when we have no big players to sell for big fees and then where will we be

We need to start living within our means

But that's the point, we aren't doing it every year. Compare the last three years accounts...we're getting a grip on things after the extraordinary expenditure we had to have to continue to play in the prem.

If we hadn't spent that money and had gone down, then we would really be in trouble and our income this year would have been about £45 million, tops.

Out:

Bramble
Turner
Gardener
Angeleri
Elmo
Gyan
Riveros (if we bring in a CM)

Meyler (Loan)
Ji (Loan)

In:

Matt Phillips
Huddlestone (If Spurs will sell for £8m or less)
Stephen Fletcher
Bridge (if willing to take wage cut)
Jay Rodriguez

The Dutch, Belgian and French leagues are where we might find our hidden gems. Germany has great players also but the money involved to get them will be higher.

My wish list would be: Vertonghen, Dembele, Hoilett, Moses & Clyne.

I'd like to see the following players leave: Elmo, Gardner, Bramble.

But if people are wanting to go to the next level we will have to spend to do so, wages and transfer fees. We wont be able to do it by spending nowt

Bottom line is with the turnover we have we just simply cant afford to go to the next level, trying to do so and failing could be catastrophic for the future of the club.

We need to live within our means and if that means midtable prem league side than so be it and people should be happy with it. The games all about money and we dont have enough of it to compete consistently in the top 7 places or so

We won't spend much money in the summer. If lucky MON will get £10m and a chunk of any money he brings in. It wouldn't surprise me if Sess is shipped out to fund a couple of purchases

RW with pace and at least two strikers!

to get all 3 i feel Sess would need to be sold? What do you feel he is worth?

Well, that view depends on what it will take to get to 6th or 7th place and challenge for the domestic cups..

IMO, that is acheivable in the next 1-2 years, depending on shipping out the like of Gordon, Bramble, Killgallon, Riveros, etc and being clever about our sponsorship deals and new signings.

We don't have to break the bank or become the next Rangers and, IMO, we will more or less break even finacially within three years, depending on achieving the above...

Got to try and hold out for at least £15m IMO.

So say you get the maximum £15m for him and another £10m from Ellis. Thats £25m worth of players

£10m striker
£7.5m winger
£7.5m striker

would take you too the next level but i feel a striker and keeping Sess would be better for you team if he was to stay fit

Fair points, maybe split the £7.5 m on a cheaper ST and a FB cover.

Also, we'll surely get some money from Gyan at least

I think we're doing just fine and that Ellis will back him. What we've had this season, is a glimpse of the potential of the club and team from MO'N. He will back him.

Might get the odd sale of a couple of players but most income probably from Gyan, I would say- if deal completed.

Dempsey is a class act.

Hangeland is solid.

Would take both in a minute.

We cant afford to go to the next level ffs, we are already spending way more than we are taking in. This needs addressing and paying for better players and bigger wages wont do this

Going to be a lot of disappointed people come transfer window time imo, we have watched Rangers go on the brink of extinction due to huge debts yet still some people dont get it and just want to spend, spend, spend

This.

But let's cheer up - MoN has taken us up a level with the players he inherited.

I expect very few additions ... but players leaving may fund players in.

Selling Gyan should fund a striker. The best thing we could do is keep hold of Sess, if not we need to sell dear and buy some creativity.

No such thing as next level bollocks, simply getting a bit better each year. We need maximum of three players in the summer, all should be quality players who strengthen our first team, not squad players.

GK: Mignolet, Westwood. ( I think Gordon's the best keeper but his time here is up, one of the biggest earners so that'll free up some money on the wage bill)

RB: new signing and Bardsley

CB: JOS, Brown, Bramble, Turner

LB: Richardson, Bridge

RM: new signing/Campbell, Larsson

CM: Cattermole, Vaughan, Colback, Meyler

LM: McClean, Loan a young un from a top club.

CF: Sessegnon, New signing, Wickham, Campbell

Squad supplemented by Laing, Knott, Noble, youth keeper.

Return all loanees.

Sell everyone not mentioned. Jobs a good un.

Sign

Sorenson - Free
Hutton - £5M?
Distin - Free
Figueroa - Free
Hoilett - Free
Diame - Free
Danny Murphy - Free
Andy Johnson - Free
Bendtner - £4M (reported fee anyways)

Sell

Angeleri, Bardsley, Bramble, Gardner, Meyler, Elmohamady, Riveros and Gyan.
Release or get whatever we can from Carson, McCartney and any other shit players that are over the 21 "free space" limit in the squads.

Loan out
Mignolet (be able to get a canny fee for his loan), Pickford, Adams, Laing, Egan, Knott, Noble, Ji and Wickham.

A long shot like

We're at the next level man. What we need are, same for everyone, even Man United, are players who will keep us in the top 10 and keep us in cup quarter finals. This is where its at.

If O'Neill had been here at the start of the season we would now be 6th or so. We might even get 6th or 7th this year. Its been a good year so far.
