Give it a year or 2 and the 4% cheat shoes will be outlawed and the records set with them chucked out - like they did with the swim suits a few years ago.

Set treadmill to 21 and run for 2 hours.Staggers me when doing a 5k park run when you see the speed of the folk running it in 16 minutes then think how fast must the elite athletes be

, I could manage one at that pace. Maybe two. No more like
Doing the same marathon, anything under 6hrs will do me. That and still being alive, not looking forward to it at all.Doing the Edinburgh marathon on 26th, will miss playoff final if we get there. Can’t imagine running that fast for a mile, insane pace. I’m aiming for 4.5 hours!
I was happy with 12mph average yesterday on my bikeNever really thought about elite marathon times, 13mph is absolutely insane. I doubt I could do that in a sprint.
I'm happy when I'm out on my bike doing 50 miles average 15-16mph.

You'd have to write off a great bunch of records if that were the case.A record should only count if there are no pace makers and the race is true run. The record should be disregarded if there is any evidence of pace making or other assistance and that includes having a timing car in front.
Load of bollox the likes of timing car in front of him to block any winds and pace makers to drop in and out.
He’s not far from doing it in a proper race...this is a bit meh
Sounds a bit like what went on at Iffley Road.
Ya wrong there like. South hylton Chippy to plarzy sq every saturday during 1991 before me patty lot got cold. That’s including south hylton bank and full of drink. There’ll be nobody on this board who could run 4.5 minutes for one mile never mind 26 consecutive miles.
I still think your right.A slight exaggeration to prove a point.

Most distance records are set in races with pace makers.

But a pacemaker can’t do the whole thing themselves! Otherwise they’d set the record. Not got a problem with pacemakers as such, do have a problem with pacemakers joinging in ( not actually starting )
