Strikers in jan

They all need some proper full 90 min games under their belts before getting wrote off, and our style of play often goes against a striker, rather than for one, so it's going to take time.

I like the look of Mayenda, but again he looks to be a striker who looks to play off the shoulder of defenders and to latch onto balls in front of him, and that's something we've yet to do as a team.
Mowbray just changes striker after a hour no matter what which is unfair on them

No bother. Move on fella.
I will, I suggest if you don't want to read my replies stick me on ignore, a discussion forum is there for discussion and maybe don't take yourself too seriously 👍

In my opinion, it makes matters worse. Especially if its just like for like with no real tactics to change the shape or game. Its a great way to beat confidence out of players whilst increasing pressure on the ones coming in to perform before they get hung out to dry by not getting picked next game.

Na, I don't need to. I'm happy to just not bother interacting with you that's all. Like I said, leave it at that.

Feel free to stick me on ignore if it makes you feel any better tho 👍

Plymouth game, 26 shots 5 on target
Swansea game 25 shots 3 on target
Both dominated by us in all stats apart from goals

And yet you keep going off topic to reply to me  I feel fine mate, it's you that has a problem

The fact is it is now almost December and none of our forwards has scored a goal. I am not disputing one of them may come good eventually but how many points have we thrown away already, waiting for one of them to come good.
We have had since January to buy a striker who can come in from the start scoring goals. We haven't done it because we wont spend the necessary money
So who do you suggest we spend the money on 🤷

I get sick of reading about parachute payments. Does that mean that every season we have to just accept 3 teams are going to do better than us? What a load of bollocks. Luton will be relegated. They will have parachute money. We are doing something seriously wrong if we can’t compete with Luton. If we sell clarke for 15 million on top of stewart and the winger we sold to Saudi apparently for a big fee that nobody talks about we will have brought in roughly 25 million in transfer fees . Add to that 40k through the gate every week we should be able to compete with anyone financially in this league. Stop making excuses for the club for not spending. Remember the excitement on this board when KLD came in??? How rich we were. Billionaires etc. People were excited because they thought we would spend money. Nobody would have been excited if we knew he plan was just to buy kids all the time. Imagine us trying to compete in premier league with this model.

Not thinking that running the club on a sustainable basis is a good idea, puts you in a minority of one I suspect. At least that’s how I read your post.

How we spend the money we have got is however a valid debate imo.

We should have stuck to players who have served their apprenticeship at Premiership clubs. Players conditioned physically and mentally to British football as best you can be in terms of preparation. It has served us well.

Buying unproven foreign players who need longer to adapt, if they ever do, slows down the succession planning and means we have halve a team ready for the premier and the other half looking like reserve team players.

Add the massive chasm in the team at goalscoring striker and holding midfielder…. And it’s fair to challenge have we spent the money wisely
Rusyn has barely had a run himself. Give the lad a reasonable chance.

There in lies the issue if your serious about success.
Unproven foreign strikers are not the answer to a team seeking promotion, which does not have an established striker for them to develop alongside . You don’t have time for them to develop in our situation. They can only ever be back until they come good… problem is there is no established striker to back up.
Truth of the matter is we would have been better off playing as we were before the 4 new strikers.
It’s not Rusyns or any of the others fault fault but it is the clubs.

This, but it's easier to blame Mowbray as numerous threads on here get bumped when we fail to win a game

The same recruitment team identifies the English academy signings and the overseas ones. Imo the problem lies with the manager, the coaching staff and the support system at the club

Not only that. Relegated sides usually have huge wage bills and high overheads but a huge drop in revenue even with the pp. If they don't go up quickly they usually are in deep trouble. It's not a given they go straight up, we didn't after all. We need to invest in the right way. We have in most areas just not the one that matters most.
I'm not even going to bother getting into it with you again as its pointless. I'll happily have a discussion on this board with anyone else other than you. It's that simple, so go bother someone else thanks 👍
Anyone ;)
