Strikers in jan

The young strikers we have need to be working their bollocks off on the training ground to improve their finishing. They’ve got a great opportunity to be the main striker at SAFC, don’t let it slip by.

I get sick of reading about parachute payments. Does that mean that every season we have to just accept 3 teams are going to do better than us? What a load of bollocks. Luton will be relegated. They will have parachute money. We are doing something seriously wrong if we can’t compete with Luton. If we sell clarke for 15 million on top of stewart and the winger we sold to Saudi apparently for a big fee that nobody talks about we will have brought in roughly 25 million in transfer fees . Add to that 40k through the gate every week we should be able to compete with anyone financially in this league. Stop making excuses for the club for not spending. Remember the excitement on this board when KLD came in??? How rich we were. Billionaires etc. People were excited because they thought we would spend money. Nobody would have been excited if we knew he plan was just to buy kids all the time. Imagine us trying to compete in premier league with this model.

I heard TM saying in his post match interview, that we're a work in progress, which is correct, but if we don't get promoted this season, we risk losing our best players, and we'll have to start again with another crop of kids, which I suppose means, we're always going to be a work in progress and possibly never the finished article.
Errrrh the owners WANT to lose our best players. THATS the whole reason behind them getting involved in football.
I get that, and I understand the need for the club to be run sustainably.

What I'm trying to point out is that we're not too far away atm, from being realistic challengers for automatic promotion, (a few quality additions could do the trick) though if we fail to go up and lose our better players, we'll have to re-set, start again & bed in a crop of new players, which may set us back a bit, which in turn, could mean a good few more years of us playing Championship football.
Aye.
Were 3 years into their 5 year plan.

A noted football writer in The Times, Martin Samuel, discusses the so called sustainability model.

He likens it to an organic garden that will never flourish cos vandals keep coming and ripping the plants put by the roots.

The only way for a football club to succeed is for the owner to invest!
