Strikers in jan

Yes, I agree. January doesn't tend to be the best time to spend. It will probably be spent in the summer. Personally I'd like him to pick either Rusyn or Mayenda and give them a few full 90 minutes.
He picked Rusyn yesterday and he put in one of the worst 45 minutes I have seen in recent times. Not a chance he could have given him 90 minutes after that first-half.

The lad didn’t even look like a footballer. I’m remembering when the ball came into the box from the right and it went through him - his body shape / technique all wrong.

Fair enough. I see it differently and think Rusyn looks decent.

We were (roughly - transfermarkt) 7th in incoming expenditure behind
1 Leicester City (Parachute Payments)
2 Leeds United (Parachute Payments)
3 Coventry City (Sold Gyökeres for big money)
4 Southampton FC (Parachute Payments)
5 Stoke City
6 Middlesbrough FC (Sold Akpom for Decent Money)
7 Sunderland

And that's not including the new contracts for Ballard, Roberts etc

To say we dont make sizeable investments seems a little harsh.
That's a useful chart and I agree with your analysis. Of course, the whole thing speaks of the unfairness - and ultimate stupidity - of the 'parachute' system. It prevents erstwhile high-flyers from going bust, but it also enables them to out-gun their rivals in the lower league. We can all expect Burnley to be apparent world beaters again next year.
For us, the answer to our striker situation can only lie somewhere in the middle. Our hands were probably tied when it came to keeping Stewart but we should be able to do better than pin all our hopes on largely unproven youngsters,

Who is realistic for January?we are crying out for a forward, who is available and realistic?
We will buy nobody that is ready and up to speed for the championship thats for sure! Perhaps a loan might be on the cards but it appears were taking the long economy route to promotion and no upgrades to business class will be accepted.

We’ll see - I’ve been wrong before! Early days and would love him to come good.
I think one problem is that Mowbray doesn't really rate any of the four we've got. The only one who has had an extended run is Burstow and it's arguable he's the worst of the four. Until we get to January we are stuck with them and I'd like to see Mowbray put genuine faith in one of them, ideally Mayenda or Rusyn.

Why haven’t you indicated we sold Stewart for big money yet did that for Boro and Coventry?
Welsh lad, Moore
He’s my Christmas wish. Keiffer Moore ,6’5” good in the air and a lovely skilful player for a tall lad. We should’ve signed him when he left Barnsley for whom he scored two cracking goals at SOL in 2018 in a 4-2 defeat.Aged 31, 2 -3 year deal. Somebody to finish the chances we create.
All 4 of our young strikers look like they need to play off somebody.
If it happens we might just make the play offs. If not, goodbye to our main men in the coming windows.

He’s looked alright last few games though.

Mayenda might start next week. I reckon he is the one, personally.

Every signing is a gamble. So I reckon Macauley Langstaff would be worth a punt if we could get him for around 3 million. He certainly knows where the net is. Trouble is 3 million is well out of our price range

To be fair to the lad, the 'big money' received by Coventry and Boro and Coventry was higher than the money we received, in the case of Coventry, significantly which would explain why they allegedly outbid us for Simms.

SAFC incoming - 9.3m Euros
Boro - 15.3m Euros
Coventry - 37.37 m Euros.
You can’t argue with that. You could add that apart from Coventry who are a season or so ahead of us no one is coming from as far back.

The issue for me relates directly to the change in our strategy, moving away from ex players from Premiership clubs schooled in English football. Who have learned and been coached in the environment.

I keep saying the Clarke’s, Ballards, Cirkin, Robert’s, Ekwah, Huggins, etc. are all ex Premiership… Bellingham ex Championship.
Buying unproven foreign strikers who have never stepped foot in English football is fraught with risk. It’s going to take so much longer to get there, if they get there at all.
Mayenda looks a natural to me but we won’t see best of him till next season.
The other 2 could be out of British football within 12 months.
As for Burstow, I can’t quite work out what happened here. He just doesn’t look ready to lead the line yet, albeit clearly has quality, surely they could see that
Regarding Burstow, everything indicates he was a last minute panic loan. Stansfied was the target but he pied us off for Birmingham at the last minute.
