Strike 1st Feb

I am on strike tomorrow listening to to Mags about going to Wembley I am telling them to order a Papa John’s pizza…..lol

I know my little one is off school today because the teachers are on strike again
Aye bairns off also, I do get it but we took the bairn out of school for half a day in September and the letter was ridiculous on how it impacts hers and the schools stats. I’ll just ignore anything they send moving forward.

Can’t work both ways for them. Whilst I get why they are doing it, they are 100% responsible for how it impacts the kids.

cacky view have been off today, the little ones school have been in but some of the teachers are missing because their own kids schools are on strike, bizarre

Teachers have it bad. Some lass at the start of the
News “ can’t afford to move out, can’t afford to feed themselves, can’t afford the petrol to get to work” so what do they spend money on then
As someone not involved in the strikes can I ask where is the money supposed to come from to get these higher rises they’re after?
If it’s a government backed place of work won’t that just mean rises and cuts elsewhere to cover it?
I’ve got no problem giving inflation matching pay rise….BUT….say inflation gets to 2% next year, will they be happy to take a pay cut to that……didn’t think so.

Do you know how inflation works?

What about he £350m a week we now supposedly save, where’s that gone?

Small tax rises for the super-rich who won’t even notice the money has gone?

Make tax avoiding corporations pay the massive amount of tax they avoid paying- us plebs can’t evade tax, why should they?

And there’s always money in the pot when e.g. it’s paid to cronies of the government to pay for fictional/ unusable PPE or there’s a ‘just’ war.

There’s plenty of ways to fund public services without it affecting anyone’s quality of life in a negative way.

So you’ve still not really answered my question, you also never mentioned the affect furlough and Covid had on the whole economy.
Also some wealthy people actually own or run businesses that then employ tens or hundreds of people.
The government are ran like a circus and that doesn’t help matters but this magic money tree people think they have is a crazy notion. Cloth needs to be cut accordingly
