Strange reation on here

I don't know if the Chelsea result heightened everyone's expectations, or people are generally frustrated at conceding a late goal, but the negative reaction on here is quite surprising.

Everton are a very good side, great on the ball and their movement is something to be admired. We looked very good at times - the passing and movement in midfield (whilst not as good as v Chelsea) was impressive, but we lacked a bit of composure on the ball (Richardson, Turner, Henderson) and sometime seem to run out of ideas when plan a failed. I don't understand Gordon's insistence on hoofing the ball every time he is in possession (surely a throw out to wings is worth trying every now and then)

Welbeck was outstanding, Cattermole looked assured and is starting to get back to the player he was at the start of last season. Bent looked rusty, Henderson looked tired and Gordon a little bit nervy. All in all, we took a deserved point against an established Premier League team who have always had the Indian Sign over us.

Happy with a point, mildly frustrated that we couldn't hold on, but relieved that Everton don't have a Bent or Gyan up front as they would have buried that chance that Beckford missed.

Good match, strange reaction..........

its just the usual bellends fishing, the vast majority of anybody with an ounce of intelligence will be satisfied we got a point against a decent team who normally do well against us.

Considering we were awful for most of the second half and that Everton are a good team, I'd say it was a great point.

Most people seem happy with the point don't they?

Just scanning down last night when I got in and again this morning there seemed to be a few slating Bruce, Turner, Ferdinand and Henderson.

Unbelievably, someone behind me (after 8 mins) said to his mate "That Henderson's been shite since he played for England"

It was the usual Sunderland - take the lead, defend deep and panic!

spot on.

i actually thought we'd get beat so was more than happy with a point.

What sad lives they must lead FFS.

Flimsily veiled attempts at winding up a few people on a football website

You would think they were trying to pull off the biggest scam in the history of the world instead of embarrassing themselves on a website with a few hundred folk on it.

They'd get more attention flopping their bell ends out in the Bridges.

Everton have staged come backs against better sides than us.
Their style of play often makes it hard for teams to get out.
I applaud our team for getting a point from a game we could have lost.

This is what I don't understand, ever since Bruce came to the club if we take the lead in the first half we sit back and just invite the other team to score. Also, why on Earth does he bring every player back for corners, it leaves us with no out ball and again just invites teams onto us.

aye cos before Bruce we would go and shred team. you agreed it was the 'usual sunderland' yet somehow went on to blame Bruce ffs

notice how when everton took the lead we got back into the game?

its because other teams also go for it more.

yet another example of how people think there is only one team on the pitch

Do we? I'll start, Chelsea last week. Your turn......;)

I didn't say we did. So what's your answe for the corners?
Edit, I was mainly agreeing with his point of taking the lead and sitting deep.

Yes, doesn't change the fact we allow teams to come onto us after taking the lead...Birmingham and Stoke come to mind.

 That just wouldn't surprise me.

It was a good result, against a very good team.

The real test of how far we have come, will be on Saturday.

It is a very credible point against very good opposition. If we'd had been offered 4 points from Chelsea and Everton a couple of weeks ago I think just about all of us would have considered that a superb return, and certainly a point more than we were reasonably expecting.
