Strange line up

What a strange team, I can only think Bruce is desperate not to lose.

Westwood
Elmohamady Brown Ferdinand Colback
Larsson Cattermole Gardner Vaughan
Richardson
Sessegnon

Maybe?

Can't understand why none of Gyan, Ji and Wickham are playing.

Don't know what the fuck is he playing at with that line up. We'll probably win now but the thing is if we get beat, his job will be near enough untenable and the ramifications of getting rid are horrific. We'd be a national laughing stock again after letting him buy a full team in the summer then giving him 3 games. And the new manager would need to start all over again and would demand the money and 3 years to 'create his own team'.

I suppose these are the sort of situations most of our fans are used to and feel comfortable with. Good times

well atleast he is trying something new id prefer him to try it in this mickey mouse cup than in the league

seem to remember us scoring 4 with no forwards on the pitch in the Prem last season.
We are going to play them off the park.
We will win by 3 goals.

f***ing mental side that. Tough times for us Bruce Inners!

We have three strikers crying out for minutes and goals under there belts, so we dont play one of them and play a attacking midfielder upfront. This is a game we should be looking at giving the f***ing strikers minutes ffs to get the to gel with each other.

But they're two relatively young and inexperienced lads, Ji doesn't also look the strongest, Wickham totally not ready yet. What this says is he's feeling the pressure and he's not prepared to take the risk and will stick with experience till the games either tied up or we need to change. I think that's understandable, what I find amazing is he's the bloke who paid £10m for them, so it's also utterly ridiculous.

Rico will be left back man and colback in centre mid, he is playing 4-5-1

Wickham came from playing regularly in the Championship though and we are playing a Championship side, ideal time to play him as he's proved he's ready at that level.

It only really needs one change (in personnel) to make it adequate, but that particular change is a crucial aspect.

Swap one of the midfielders (probably Cattermole) with a striker, drop Gardner back into central midfield, Sessegnon back into his favoured 'number 10' slot and put a f***ing striker up top.

@SAFCOfficial saying Larsson and Vaughan are on the flanks.

Given Vaughan is never a winger in a million years, the team sheet is just superb.

I'm definitely not in the Bruce Out camp, but this looks very strange. I'm hoping he has sort of plan...a defence-splitting gameplan that works with these players or something. Because we should be having a good crack at winning this competition, and Brighton are an in-form team in the Championship and at home, they have a real chance of winning this match. I hope he knows what he's doing because if he doesn't, we could easily lose. And that's not good enough.

£23m worth of strikers on the bench with none starting and 8 midfielders!!!

I really thought Wickham/Ji would get a game tonight. He could at least give a load of young players a run- Billy Knott, Blair Adams, Jordan Cook, Louis Laing etc. Then at least there'd be an excuse if we lost

We'd better win.

I think that would have annoyed me more, for what it's worth.

He'll moan when things are going against us, we have injuries and he has to throw them into the first team.

I'd of went with a 4-3-1-2

Westwood

Elmo
Laing
W.Brown
Rico

Catts
Colback
Gardner

Sessegnon

Wickam
Ji

I don't buy all this young inexperienced stuff. Why was Henderson capable of playing at a young age, why is Colback, why was Meyler etc.

Dong has played for his country.
Wickham has plenty experience at Championship level which is what we're facing tonight.

Bruce has not got the foggiest what to do with his signings so is chucking all his midfield together to hope he finds a partnership or connection of sorts.

Ridiculous to start with not one natural striker when we got ones available. Couldnt give shit if result comes from it it's plain stupid.
