pride of the north

Not sure there were ever any stones in these henges.
Certainly not after 'local MP Rishi Sunak' had them reallocated to Tunbridge Wells as part of his levelling up programme.

Northampton is the first twon northwards that has a language I don't understand, so yes it's Watford Gap for me.There's obviously the "Watford Gap" thing. That's really a decent place to draw the line, but thick shites think its in/near to Watford, rather than Northampton.
There's no way you can suggest Ripon isn't in the North though. Its in Yorkshire, which is the north by any definition.
Callanish and the Ring of Brodgar are more Stonehenge quality.

Its not me saying this, its everyone in the south. As someone above said, both sides of the country see things differently.Near to Northampton is a good place to draw the line????
If it’s south of Peterlee, it’s down south.Anyone who thinks Ripon isn't Northern really has neither a grasp of the English North/South divide, nor basic geography.
It isn't even close to the midlands, never mind the south.

Anyway, after Northampton you hit Leicester then quickly Nottingham. There's no way that's the south. (Obviously all 3 are the midlands, but when there's only a binary choice...)
Ah, Peterlee exists outside of the north/south divide. If it’s south of Peterlee, it’s down south.
It exists in another Universe mate.Ah, Peterlee exists outside of the north/south divide.![]()
In a binary choice Nottingham and Leicester are absolutely in the south.
Ask anyone in the south, and they'll say the opposite.
Bear in mind, people in Notts will great you with "What's up me duck". Its very hard to consider that as southern. I lived there for 4 years and never felt like it was the south. Can't speak for Leicester though.
