Stone Roses or Oasis?

Oh there are much better bands than either. I Wanna be Adored came on the radio so I thought I'd just whack this thread up there to gauge opinion :)

Fair enough. Like both but Oasis by some distance for me - better singer(s), greater volume of work, generally better at being a band.

On a side note, I listened to the Seahorses (had barely heard of 'em or realised it was Squire 'til recently) album for the first time last week - it's quite good. Haven't heard anything decent of note by Brown since the Stone Roses (that shitty FEAR song can fuck right off).

It's f***ing awful.

Roses, got 'Begging You' on currently as it happens (random playlist).. there is no Oasis listed in the playlist at all BUT somehow Rihanna has a couple tracks in there

I think Oasis Vs Roses is a shite comparison TBH,

Anyway, Joses K or Joy Division?

Corpses and Stellify are excellent tracks.

 What was so original about the Stone Roses like??? John Squire's album artwork?

The last great "new" band IMHO. They were a breath of fresh air.

The album is in my top ten ever and is still fresh as a daisy.

No offence to the man in your avatar but The Roses album is better than anything Phil and the boys ever did and I am a huge Lizzy fan. (Saw them at least 5 times)

It's all about opinions but to me what the Roses did just shines through and I don't understand how anyone who likes decent music cannot see it how much better it is than the run of the mill stuff.

Just as a counterpoint.

Neither would I marra :-D:lol:

he's right you know, when was the last time you actually listened to it?

oh and roses by a mile too

Second Coming is a bit of a revisionist rock album. As is Be Here Now in many ways. Be Here Now is the better album. In fact, Be Here Now is criminally underrated - even by Noel himself.

you're seriously saying be here now is a better album than the second coming?
