stone roses at dame dorothy cresent

The Clash did play in Sunderland in 1985..they were on bit of an impromptu busking tour and ended up in Gollums (Mowbray Hotel)..they were going to play the Bunker on Stockton Road but the venue didn't have a live music licence at the time.

There’s a few YouTube recordings of the Gateshead bus station gigs. Not great quality, but listenable.

I wondered how many people would claim to be involved in some way.

I was pulling pints behind the bar, I still have my autograph off Ian (this was before selfies n that)

And The Kasbah was in Roker Avenue/George Street Nth, not Dame Dorothy Crescent.

Years later, I saw Bros at the Blue Monkey, not long after it opened and before it was swamped with bellends.

They were trying to hand out 7" singles but no-one was interested. (Bros, not the bellends)

by the way, in no way am I comparing Stone Roses with Bros, it's just another "before they were famous" thing.
