stone roses at dame dorothy cresent

Was my local for about 4 years ,cannot remember joining owt ? Or a card ? Must have been the draft Becks
We joined when it first opened, probably some of the first members. When it was struggling I think the rules were a lot more relaxed. Not sure how long it survived until it became the After Dark.
We saw Iron Maiden in there. Not playing, just in for a pint, then we bizarrely saw them in Finos later that night.

Remember this but was not there, just too young. They took off a few months later and it was class. 1989 was a great year to be 16.

Anyone see New Order at the bowling alley?
Or The Faces the night of the cup semi final in 73. Rod Stewarts favourite ever gig he reckoned.

Pity it wasn't Joe Strummer who played The Kasbah, that would have been a rocking gig.

Saw N.O. at the Mayfair. They only played an hour and no encore. Late 84 or early 85 ish.

John Peel rated The Faces gig as one of his all time favourites too.

Aye New Order at the Mayfair.

My mate went because he’d saw them on either Snub TV or Rapido or summit and thought they were class. I never because a lad at work was into them and I thought if he likes them they must be shit. Anyway, there WAS about fifteen people there and Ian Brown stopped about half way through and asked if anyone could buy him a brandy.

I couldn't make it, I was meeting Michael Jackson at Park Lane bus station as he was playing at Finos that night and needed an escort. The remaining Beatles were all much less hassle a couple of years later. Although George wanted a bacon sandwich in Louis but Paul fancied a pint in The Borough and words were exchanged.
Should have said you were touched and it could have sorted you out with a small fortune.
