I love how this is the fault of the ECB. He f***ing smacked someone repeatedly.

He was in the Test squad, so nothing has changed - if the issue hasn't been sorted by the time the squad is due to leave for Australia he'll be removed from the squad: just like he was for the Test Series.
Nothing new really.

If he's good enough to be in the odi squad then he's good enough to be in the test squad, same with Plunkett

Absolutely clowns, totally rotten. They're ruining red ball cricket in this country.
You and I have covered this already today, but I don't think anyone is blaming FTECB for the incident. It's clear though, ill feeling is certainly growing towards them for their handling of it - which granted, has been made far worse due to the incompetence of the justice system.
Even a lot of moderates are starting to turn their thoughts and feelings towards the thinking that enough is enough, it's time to reinstate him.

Plunkett is a completely different topic.
Stokes is at fault. The ECB had little choice, although I agree with @brandon that at some point enough is enough. But given it’s with the CPS the ECB have their hands tied

In the squad but once again won't play if investigation still ongoing (which it probably f***ing will be). Thought they said he would not even be considered for selection while under investigation. If they're picking him in future squads there's no reason for him not to be playing now Imo.

Don't get me wrong he should be punished but a fine would do or take vice captaincy off him or suspend him from the meaningless one day series. But in a series as big and as important as this you play your best players
I suppose that just comes down to our own perceptions chunky, what I'm saying though, is I don't believe people are blaming them for the incident - just the mishandling of the suspension - and of course we know that the only man responsible for his not being in Australia is Ben Stokes himself.
Again I reiterate, I thought the suspension was bang on at first. It was an excellent PR move amongst other things. However I do believe that there would be very very little dissent from the public if they reinstated him for Perth.
It's clear there's a real clamour now to get him back involved. It's still possible that they suspend him again during any trial process, but I do feel that they could come out and say that he's served his punishment for the misdemeanours of being out late, pissed and fighting. Then add on, that should the Police and CPS look to prosecute, further sanctions will be placed and potentially another punishment given, if the need dictates, upon completion of that process.
In so doing, that would send a clear message that firstly, contracted England cricketers have to uphold a good level of behaviour even when not officially on duty. Then secondly, it would still stress that they want to allow the lawmakers to do their work without pressure or prejudice from FTECB.

You can't play him man. He may legally be summoned back to f***ing Britain mid-test!!
He needs to be cleared first. Some jobs it's fine to carry on with something like this hanging over you. If Canterbury have to wheel the 12th man out, or be all out with nine wickets down, so be it. But f***ing England in the Ashes? Crazy.

This is the major sticking point imo - if the ECB thought they would be okay to play stokes im sure they would, especially now they are naming him in future squads for the ODIs.
Big difference between being summoned back from New Zealand for a hearing and being summons back from Perth in the middle of a test..
As for the calls saying if Plunkett is good enough for the ODIs he's good enough for tests.... Jesus ffs. Completely different.

The Plunkett point is a bit odd. People want him in the team because he's quick and you need pace in Australia. You'll struggle to win a series here without a bowler who can hit 90mph regularly
