What I have noticed with stoke fans is they appear to have been brainwashed by their manager. Going onto that oatcake thread is like an endless echo of Tony Pulis.

I am one of the "physical game" supporters so I can sympathize with Huth and the sending off. It should have been a yellow.

For Pulis to accuse Meyler of diving is a joke. There was clear contact and because he was travelling at speed, his momentum made it look worse than it was.

Stoke are like an extra derby match. I hate them as much as the mags at the minute

The top line is exactly what I was going to put. I havent been on their website but going off this thread they certainly seem to have been brainwashed and are just spouting the same shit Pulis has been.

I have to add tho, pulis saying myler or meyler or whatever he's called is 1 of the most insulting, disgusting comments I've ever heard from a manager. A young lad who's been out nearly 2 years and lucky to still have a career gets spoken about like that. I'm not arsed what he thinks about the red card or if he thinks meylers a cheat but that line really, really winds me up and he's gone down so far in my estimation because of it...

I notice that as well as refusing the appeal over Huth the FA have handed out a punsihment to Pulis. He has been ordered to wear a baseball cap at every Stoke game until he stops acting the tosser. I don't like Pulis but I think that is a bit harsh - he is going to look like a complete arse.

This is a particular highlight.

As for the sick ***** wishing a smashed leg on a young lad just coming back from 2 serious knee injuries, it just shows what a horrible bunch they are.

Even when ya get the odd knacker on here wishing that on a player, they quickly get shot down. Goes to show the vast gulf in class imo.

Have to stop reading Oatcake as their comments regarding Myler's "faking" just irritates the shit out of me. Out of all of our players, only Catt's is less likely to exaggerate an injury, yet they insist on regurgitating Pulis's bile.

I am going to make a concerted effort not to be blind to another teams point of view the next time we are victim to an over zealous refereeing decision, although I still agree with the "real time" view of the incident being "WTF is that daft C unt doing?" which is what I thought as soon as Huth launched into the tackle at the angle he did and as late as he did.

I know we have plenty of bell ends on here who absolutely refuse to have any wrong said of our players, but they are far out weighed by the sensible and more mature ones who put them straight when they spout rose tinted rubbish.

In Stoke's fans case they are almost unilaterally convinced that Meyler left the ref no choice due to his actions, when surely the ref didn't even have time to look at him before he showed the card.

It could have been left as a yellow card with a stern warning that the conditions couldn't be blamed for any more tackles of that type. This might well of lead to 2 or 3 yellow cards against the likes of Fuller and Shawcross which the ref avoided giving seemingly in an attempt to pander to a team that were clearly never going to win without Huth.

Couldn't have put it better myself marra.

Wonder what the used to assess the situation and come to the conclusion that the red card should stand?

Pulis reputation, stokes reputation, and a bit of common sense.

If they'd revoked it, where would it stop? Lots of cards handed out this weekend. They wanted to make a statement, and this was the perfect opportunity.

It's amazing how blinkered they are regarding this issue, despite photographic evidence proving Meyler was caught in a fast paced, rash challenge which was not only irresponsible from Huth, but a tad dangerous.

I do not think it was worthy of a red - probably more so a yellow - but the idiots with their torches and pitchforks out to tell all and sundry that Meyler feigned injury have proved that not only does Stoke City FC and all their fans lack class and competency but that, like Liverpool fans, they are prepared to see past lies and mistakes in order to cover something much bigger. They have an agenda against Sunderland, probably because we've taken millions from them for mediocre footballers, and Meyler is just the latest in a line of 'fakers' who are out to belittle their poor, hard done to Stoke.

They can fuck right off - who do they think they are. Stoke are not exempt from disrepute and need to wise up that if you do something wrong at this level then you face the consequences. Stop bitching, wipe your fannies and man the fuck up.

I still maintain that Pulis had a point about diving in general, but he chose a lousy example to air his rant. I also don't think it was a red card offence, but it was one of those you are never going to get overturned as it also wasn't a blatent error by the ref. It was down to interpretation.

What that tells you is that stoke cant score without cheating

Given about 60% of their goals come from set pieces, 90% of their set pieces are won dishonestly by strikers backing into defenders and going down cheaply, and 100% of their set pieces involve either shirt pulling, grappling or obstructing the keeper I would say you may be onto something. ;)

Just another twist this morning when Martin Emerson on BBC Radio Sports Direct said that it has come to light that Huth apologised to Meyler for the tackle after the game :)
