Stoke Away

I was looking at a parking app. Looks like there is a big Sainsbury’s about 30 min walk away but I think it might be City centre-ish and probably even more of a nightmare to get to and out of.

Do any of the Stokies know where I mean?

Know where it is. I'd avoid as there is a time limit. If you do want to park in and around Stoke and are ok with that end of town then I'd look at the Fletcher Road/Water St area. It's a much shorter walk. Can be a bit tricky getting to the A50 from there though if you are coming down on the M1.

It’s on a parking app so you pay to park there. I have used a few Sainsburys on it, Preston, Huddersfield etc

Ok, never knew that. Good info. In that case then it's just a case of where you need to get to after the game. The walk to the stadium is a fairly simple one. Through an alleyway and down Campbell Road, past the old ground. After, if you need to get to the A50 the quickest way will probably London Road, A34, A500, A50.

We will be going back North so A50 to the M1. Looking at google map we’d have to go past the stadium both before and after so not sure if that’s gonna be added pain.

Before shouldn't be that much of an issue depending on the time. After might be an issue. It generally backs up at the A500 roundabout by the waste centre as you join the A50.

An alternative worth considering would be the Newstead Industrial Estate on Trentham Road, opposite the Hem Heath pub. You can go right off that estate towards Longton and pick up the A50 from there. Similar walking distance/time.

Nice one thanks

They don't? They used to. To be certain, I'd look at the Grove Road area in Heron Cross. You'd have to pay but there are some businesses there that you can use. Other than that I'd park way out and walk, maybe the Newstead Industrial Estate on Trentham Road, but is a good 30 minute walk.
Isn’t there a rugby club just a 10 minute walk away that is away fan friendly? I’m sure I parked there a couple of times in the past

There is but it gets packed now, so unless you leave before the final whistle, I'd take a packed lunch as you could be stuck there for anything up to an hour or so after the final whistle.

56 quid for me and the bairn
Via Carlisle going and via Doncaster coming back . I presume 6.30 is more than enough time to get back to train station on way back from stadium
when you come out of the station turn right the police will direct you to the terrace pub it will be sunderland fans only buses will pull up there to take you to the ground think its 2quid and they wait at the ground to take you back the station.you can walk but its a fair old walk 30 mins.hope this helps mate have a gppd day
