I have visions of all these financial geniuses on here investing a grand in “so and so” shares.
If you are going to make any worthwhile money you need to stick a fair chunk into the pot.
Very true.It's all relative. A grand is a lot to one person, but nothing to another.

Funny enough I did just put £1k in high risk stocks and shares after debating for some time, I have £20k about too become available after being in a 2 year bond but I’m not confident in putting all that in a vanguard or similar as it’s mostly the kids savingsIt's all relative. Exactly what I was away to post you’re much better off investing smaller amounts on a monthly basis rather than one big dump, it’s all about cost averaging over years.Investing small amounts, regularly, over a long period can easily make "worthwhile money".
