Stock, Aitken and Waterman

The class fanny rat told me that if I wanted to get the chicks, I had it listen to chart music. So for about 3 years i bought smash hits religiously and gave myself an encyclopaedic knowledge of SAW and all the other chod in the charts so I could impress girls. Well, it still didn’t get me any, and he turned out to be gay.
Mind, it was still better than listening to iron maiden or whatever ludicrous thing the metalheads were into.
I listened to it all Dave (big brothers were metal fans) kept my options open.....I could talk about it all me 😜😎

I have a euro dance record produced by him

Assume it is the same person anyway!

Have that on vinyl, never for the life of me new Pete was out to do with it. Always presumed it was Italian, gerrup.
Yep, his label, euro dance stuff always reminds me of Metro Radios Euro Parade. 👍

Or Wear FM with Megasal. Good fecking times, RIP Micky.

As is “Never Gonna Give You Up” ….the album they did with Donna Summer ie “Another Place and Time” is great too, probably her best……that will probably feature in Episode 2.

its fair to say they did some crap too……but dont all songwriters ?
She hated that album and regretted doing it. I've got most of her stuff and thought it was one of her best.
I didn't mind Rick Astley either. His voice was different, I've got three of his albums. He also kind of regrets his time with SA&W. He wanted to do more serious music, got disillusioned with it all and quit the music business for a long time. The SA&W brand of music was throwaway pop and probably allright for that time.

Posting this classic especially for @Georgewhitt who must've danced to this in Rockshots when he was young surely?

Exactly, that's why they sound 100 times better.
🤣🤣🤣
You got me wrong mate, I was just posting an anecdote. No, I don't think he's a great songwriter, he's just ok. He is however the kindest human being I've had the privilege of knowing.

George doesn't dance because of his feet problem... they are both lefties.
Mate, I have a right, an extremaly big middle, and the that bit over there, that is properly idealistic, but doesn't really work🤣🤣🤣

I was at the theatre with the family and two gay mates last week. We got talking about divine and I me ruined that song. Really liked it along with loads of Europop back in mid 80s

I liked the cover of these boots were made for walking

I asked Alexa to play some good music the other night she went full on Wear FM.
Sals anthem was the second track, I was certainly feeling the energy in Washington.
I remember him on the Weakest Link. RIP Megasal.

Mad that Rick regrets his time with SWA…he owes his career to them.
Donna Summer on the other hand certainly didnt and probably thought the SWA sound was strange……but again its strange that she hated and regretted that album as they totally resurrected her career after the Cats Without claws and All Systems Go albums failed to live up to her big selling “ She Works Hard For The Money” LP. Her SWA album was a massive seller for her and she never came close to repeating that success thereafter.

She regretted it artistically. She thought that that kind of very commercial sound wasn't for a serious artiste.
Rick said in an interview he wishes he could have taken a different route into music. He did acknowledge that sa&w were behind the early success he had.
