Stock, Aitken and Waterman

You spin me right round is one of the best singles ever
As is “Never Gonna Give You Up” ….the album they did with Donna Summer ie “Another Place and Time” is great too, probably her best……that will probably feature in Episode 2.
Should be doused in runny shit just for this crime against the ears alone.

its fair to say they did some crap too……but dont all songwriters ?

The class fanny rat told me that if I wanted to get the chicks, I had it listen to chart music. So for about 3 years i bought smash hits religiously and gave myself an encyclopaedic knowledge of SAW and all the other chod in the charts so I could impress girls. Well, it still didn’t get me any, and he turned out to be gay.
Mind, it was still better than listening to iron maiden or whatever ludicrous thing the metalheads were into.

After a few years gap, I popped into see MIke and how excited he was to play me some of his "New style stuff"
I said I thought it was dire, but knew it would sell. Just to add that he wrote and sold his first song at age 14...it got to number 6 in the Italian top 20
Mate, you're picking me up wrong here.
I am not saying shit doesn't sell, and f***ing hats off to them for doing it and making more than a few quid.
But a retrospective look into their career, and putting them into the pantheon of quality songwriters??? Haway man, even if it is your mate.

Don't mind the Rick single but the Dead or Alive song had that trademark Disco sound driving it .

i like all kinds of music so was lucky enough to try my hand in all the scenes
Annabels,Ku,Chambers dance nights ,monkey ,Mayfair rock nights etc
i'd say Rock lasses topped the list as far as Eye Candy on the dance floor

Sometimes I think if a song is good then it’s good, but these music factory types take sales and airtime away from real creative artists

There ya go, another musicians expert opinion 👍

That's the funniest post I've read this week

You got me wrong mate, I was just posting an anecdote. No, I don't think he's a great songwriter, he's just ok. He is however the kindest human being I've had the privilege of knowing.
