Still taking no responsibility

"Unfortunately it was an error of judgement on my behalf, I've paid the consequences...
...I apologise to those and all concerned in the unfortunate position I've put myself in."
And if he'd left it at that fine BUT he didn't BUT I was helping a mate BUT it was entrapment.
Genuine taking responsibility doesn't usually involve BUT really it was still someone's responsibility it happened.

TBF he thought he was helping out his friend of 30 years

I know fine well nearly every person on here has got up to something they know fine well is wrong with a mate or helped them out but still went ahead with it

No good coming across all holier than thou on here like. I couldnt care less what hes done, theyre all corrupt fuckers

It's people sticking the boot in not because he did something behind England's back or he is a greed sod. It's because he left SAFC. If he was still in charge they'd be defending him to no end.

If they are that dusgusted then they should look at how Ellis Short earned his billions. Protest at the clubs sponsorship deals with Provident and refuse to buy any SAFC goods until we drop Dafabet.

Allardyce only has himself to blame. He got his dream job and his greed blew it. But let's not forget that he's the reason we are still in the Premier League.

"I'm very sorry...but..."

There should be no "but", just be sorry.

It dose not look like he is going to accept he was in the wrong in meeting people who wanted a cut into the lucrative business of player transfers in the UK but was prepared to accept jollys to luxury locations and a few hundred grand to tide him over as expenses....

Bit in bold is 100% correct, but it doesn't make them right. Plenty of football fans would be happy with Ian Huntley playing up front if he scored a few goals, or with Rose West as Chair-person if she poured a load of money in. It's horrible and is one of the (many) dis-tasteful things about football now.

As for Allardyce, he deserves all the stick he gets. He is, and always has been, an arrogant oaf who thinks he is cleverer than he actually is. He made this mistake and he can try and pass the blame however he likes, it's his own fault.

And he is the reason we're still in the Premier League. Along with Dick Advocaat, Gus Poyet, Paolo Di Canio and Martin O'Neill, all of whom achieved the exact same as he has. So he's not that much of a saviour, really.

"Unfortunately it was an error of judgment on my behalf and I have paid the price"

That sounds like someone taken responsibility. Some of our fans are unbelievable. Without Allardyce we'd be in The Championship. But the SMB sticks the boot in. It's not just Allardyce. SKP, Sess, Quinny and Marco all get the same treatment!
Without di canio, poyet, advocaat etc we'd be in the championship. You want them back too?

I agree. That is accepting responsibility TBF. He also raised a good point about the entrapment.

Hardly the greatest ever act of contrition is it? Sounds more like he's just sorry for getting caught out to me.

He didn't actually get £400k though and he said he would have to clear that with the FA.
I think he's gone more for the suggestion he knows a way around his employers own strict rules on player ownership. The offer of money, whilst exposing his greed, is probably not the issue, especially as he clearly says he would have to clear it first
