Still taking no responsibility

I agree with you and I feel the same. I've no sympathy for Allardyce. He had to go. But the OP was more in line of taking a dig at Allardyce because he left not for what he did. Some posters on here take objection to anyone who moves on.
I've just checked who is the op and I'm not sure you're correct. I'm not going to speak for her but her posts tend to be positive and balanced.

Of course it wouldn't be a football message board without an element of vindictive karma.

Personally I think Sam is a very under rated manager and rather than revelling in his downfall, from a purely football perspective, I'm more disappointed that we're not going to see what sort of fist he would have made of the England job.

Having said that I've absolutely no sympathy for the greedy fool and he got his just desserts.

Tee hee ~ he got a huge pay-off for 67 days' work....he's laughing all the way to the bank....and his next job managing in the Premier League.

Pay off? Surely it's a sackable offence?

"left by mutual agreement."

Now that can be played a number of ways, but the most likely is- go without a fuss, right now and
a) there will be no talk of sacking and b) we pay you most or almost all your contract.

Amazing what organisations will do to minimise 'mess'. Money is rarely the top concern.

They're the same as the ones who are dancing on his grave not because he was caught out by his own greed, because he left the club.

This thread was started to have a dig at Allardyce. Some of us are a little grown up and respect him for what he did last season and the position he left us in.

There is no way I hold anything at all against Sam for leaving us,after all he was leaving for his dream job from a club that had been relegation fodder for the last 3 years.

However this should be confused with the fact he has been greedy beyond belief or the fact that his comments about Roy were childish as fuck,he loves himself always has, his previous comments about saying if is surname was foreign he would manage Madrid or top club or something like that proves he was totally delusional.

He has actually achieved very little in the game and the top clubs have not been even close top appointing him because he is nowhere as good as he thinks.

The last week you have two managers having a bad time Sam and Nigel Pearson could not have happened to two nicer blokes!

As my Dad says he has no ethics or integrity, just about sums your post up.

Or, he leaves accepting nothing, appreciating he fucked up as it is gross misconduct and the FA say he by mutual agreement. I'll be surprised if he was paid off.

Bollocks.

I suspect I'm not alone in accepting that he's an excellent and much under-appreciated manager at our level and did a very, very good job for us.

By the same token the majority on here were disappointed that he took the England job but accepted that it was his dream gig.

But that doesn't mean that we should stick our fingers in our ears and ignore the less savoury aspects of Sam's character.

The Telegraph sting was very revealing and apart from the fact that he came across as egotistical, cocky and boorish it also confirmed what a lot of fans had always suspected - that he's a greedy chancer.

As everyone knows full well, journalists are like sharks who pick their targets carefully ....... Allardyce was a sitting duck because he appears to believe his 'man of the people' act will always win the day.

The reality is that he's actually very shallow, arrogant and ridiculously greedy. I don't believe for a second that he wanted the England job for the sake of the nation and the fans ...... it was simply for his own ego, the same ego that's allowed him to walk straight into this trap.

What the FA were thinking of in appointing him is beyond me although I was told he was taken on to fill the gap while Wenger is ready.

Spot on,don't think I have ever agreed with one of your posts as much.

The Wenger situation has been spoken about before, Eddie Howe to Arsenal is another one?.

Aye, got a £1m payoff apparently. Staggering
On £3mil a year so in the grand scheme of things nothing really.

And still people queuing up to dance on the blokes grave. Very sad.
People who are using arrogance as a stick to beat him with are out of order as well, his arrogance or confidence as id prefer to call it is what has made him the manager he is, I have no issue with it. It's part of the reason we are still a premier league club.
As for taking job for his own ego of course he did, but if he does a good job then the people of this country will also reap the benefits. Does anybody really think that Guardiola goes skipping round Europe winning trophies for the good people of Munich, barca and Manchester? Of course he doesn't it's all for the challenge and to feather his CV, nothing wrong with that either by the way.
Big Sam is greedy but I don't think he's a bad bloke and the gutter press will love every second of dragging him through the mud and to hell with his family.
There are people on this thread who were defending the club with the facts staring then right in the face in regards to AJ yet are quite happy to see Allardyce flung under the bus. Staggering!
