Disagree.
Methven told it as it was, an absolute shit show piss take party.
Send the bill every month for ES to sign.
Embarrassing how badly run we were, absolutely cringe worthy. Q
I'd actually forgotten how good Maja was.
Huge blow him leaving which ultimately cot us top 2.
Easy to slag Donald, but Majas agent wanted him away so what cud he really do?
Fully agree with all of the above

Episode 5: I dont care about the fans who have been loyal, we can get 60k more by making them buy a membership to get a Wembley ticket.

Yeah, I can understand criticism of that.

I didn’t mind the principle of people going to the league game getting priority but it shouldn’t be ahead of Checkatrade history.

Watched 4-5 episodes so far and I have to say I really think SD was really trying to make it work and can feel his pain at varying points. He seems genuinely humble that he is in charge of a massive club and was trying his best. I still don’t think that he should be owner of our club due to lack of experience but I would say from what I’ve watched he is very genuine.

No, Chris is the short dark haired lad with glasses.

Guy who mentioned the PA system sounded like a right thicko.

Makes you wonder how many other people like that are employed at the club who offer absolutely fuck all.

Oscar Chamberlain wasn't it? He does all the social media stuff, twitter etc.

I dunno.. after watching first three episodes, it just depresses me a bit. Not sure if anyone else feels this way, but I feel a little differently about Donald.

He made a mess out of some things because of the pressure of owning this big of a club but there is nothing malice about him from what I have seen. He made mistakes but he seemed passionate about the city and the fans.

You have to wonder how different everything would be right now if Maja would have stayed.

Just watched it all, sorry like but Methven told it like it was! I wouldn't mind working for someone like that, he wasn't anywhere near as bad as some have made out, just wants jobs done,

Donald was obviously out of his depth but both meaned well and did what had to be done, I'd shake them both by the hand for having a go if I bumped into them,

Only watched one episode, all about Charlie so far
Annoyed the hell out of me first 3 episodes. Then I started to really like him. Tough but smart. Comes to the defence of SD a lot that I like to see
I generally find, if you talk to people in a civil, calm and rational manner, you'll get more back from them, than ranting and effing blinding at them.
I understand CM trying to make a point, by indicating how stark the situation was, which would have been fine, if he was addressing a load of hardened dockers, but not when addressing office staff, presumably of which, many were women.
I got the impression that meeting was a string of endless meetings and he had enough.

Just watched the lot.

Fans call Donald and Methven clueless but, the staff they inherited at the club looked like they couldn't give a fuck and Charlie called them on it straight away. That lass in particular who got the sack was so negative!... She ultimately got shown up when she said we'd never get 40k on boxing day. As Donald rightly pointed out, you cant have negative staff pulling in a different direction.

Probably an unpopular opinion but after watching it all, I do think Stewart and Charlie wanted to do well here but got caught short. There were obviously things they hadn't accounted for and they definitely thought it was going to be easier than it turned out.

Probably the most annoying thing is how Ross totally shat himself over the course of the season, with the obsene amount of draws and the 2 Wembley trips....He really should have went after the playoff final.

f***ing hurt watching that but was interesting to see what went on behind the scenes.

Got me thinking, a little similar, I used to live next door to a Mercedes mechanic, he worked on the wessington where they had a contract with sunderland to supply cars for staff and players. He was working on Roy keanes car and in the glove box there was about 50 DVD copies that either him or someone else at the club was knocking out!
Maybe the copies they give to players to take home and review matches or get the skinny on opposition before a game?

this is probably the best football documentary ever made. If there’s a better edited, more revealing one ever been made I’d love to see it. That QPR one ‘Five Year Plan’ is the only one that’s come close imo.

I've watched 4 episodes and the editing is shit, just like the first one.

SD walking round on transfer deadline day, the caption say 2 and half hours till deadline and the clock on the PC reads 10:58, later it reads 11:00 just before deadline....
The wife supposedly at an away game, the roof above the stand is curved, like the SOL and the away ground has no filled corners....
The kid with the ice on his foot, caption states knee injury....

There's more but i can't remember them....

It's a farce editing wise....
Yes but there’s a way of doing it and it’s not like that

To be fair, most of it is six months into them taking over and probably not getting results from the staff, a fair bit of frustration was shown on Boxing Day when all he wanted was a figure to say if you had broke the record or not, the attitude from the Irish lass all the way through was piss poor....

Yeah, but only proper clued up fans know that stuff. I just mean the way the games are shot from multiple angles and the super slo-mo’s leading up to the goals n that. I was nearly in tears when Gooch’s header went in v Charlton in the first episode

Agree with this. Was fully expecting him to come across as an absolute cock and especially after reading this place yesterday..

Aye I felt bad for him watching that, only thing I’d say is that he blatantly can’t afford to take us forward and his footballing decisions/people he’s employed have been shit. He’s definitely made a mess of promotion.

Even at the end when Charlie says ‘we must go up comfortably next year’, you then look at the summer, the recruitment & the fact they kept Jack Ross and you really think wtf.

Agree about Methven. He’s a prick but clearly grafts his arse off and wants everyone to do the same.

I've just started episode 4 so I'll give my review when I've seen the lot.

However, what I will say is that I'm surprised that Methven is getting a hammering.

From what I've seen so far, he was the driving force in many things. He may come across as ruthless but that is exactly what was needed at the club.

Tony Davison nails it in the 3rd episode when he says the staff are terrified and don't know how to work things out by themselves because they've always been told what to do and at the end of the month send the bill to a man named Ellis Short in Florida. The staff have meetings among themselves and can't decide on things therefore arrange another meeting resulting in Donald and a few others making decisions.

There was a total lack of leadership, in fact it was non existent and this was shown in the meetings Methven had with staff about asking for ideas and suggestions and there was just silence and glum faces like a group of school children.

Methven was trying show leadership and be a leader figure and as mentioned by Donald in episode 3, we need people to be on board with us or go elsewhere and not have negative people around the club.

We, the fans, demanded that we get our club back and Methven was trying to do this. We got 46,000 fans on boxing day and that was because of Methven's drive which is something that had been missing for many years at board level.

By no means does he get off scot free as he has said some daft things. However, the fact remains is that he and Donald have dedicated a lot of their life over the last few years to trying to help us get back to where we should be , probably more so than any owners we've had previously and they brought the good feeling back.

I'm quite sad and disappointed it's ended the way it has as with the right support, structure and financial backing, the club could have been on a good track. However, they have been driven out

This, good post. It can't be denied that you could tell how livid they were at the Wembley outcomes and it mattered massively to them. They did save our club and can't thank them enough for that.

Fair enough, i get what your saying, i just think it will be watched by football fans, who will notice....

Can't wait to see how it ends ;)
