Some of the things Methven says are evidently true, but his delivery is total Alan Partridge. The arrogance is all too evident. His continual to 10 years of failure and misery is way out of line. Being a Prem club was not a failure, the mismanagement of finances was. He seems to think amodicum of success in league one wil jettison his legacy above the status of Allardyce, Keane, Defoe, Poyet etc .... :/

Got me thinking, a little similar, I used to live next door to a Mercedes mechanic, he worked on the wessington where they had a contract with sunderland to supply cars for staff and players. He was working on Roy keanes car and in the glove box there was about 50 DVD copies that either him or someone else at the club was knocking out!
Is the bid satellite still ower the academy ;)

He would have downed tools and we'd have got nowt for him. It was the right decision to let him go.

 was it fuck

unbelievable that you still think this

he scored in the last game he played ffs

Some of our fans dont deserve a succesfu football club like

Because he knew he was away, had he stayed he wouldn't have played as well as he could.

just on to episode 4 or 5 now, the one after maja went. enjoying it so far. can't remember much of the footy even though i'd have been there.
nice to see madbob next to charlie in the first one :)

I've just started episode 4 so I'll give my review when I've seen the lot.

However, what I will say is that I'm surprised that Methven is getting a hammering.

From what I've seen so far, he was the driving force in many things. He may come across as ruthless but that is exactly what was needed at the club.

Tony Davison nails it in the 3rd episode when he says the staff are terrified and don't know how to work things out by themselves because they've always been told what to do and at the end of the month send the bill to a man named Ellis Short in Florida. The staff have meetings among themselves and can't decide on things therefore arrange another meeting resulting in Donald and a few others making decisions.

There was a total lack of leadership, in fact it was non existent and this was shown in the meetings Methven had with staff about asking for ideas and suggestions and there was just silence and glum faces like a group of school children.

Methven was trying show leadership and be a leader figure and as mentioned by Donald in episode 3, we need people to be on board with us or go elsewhere and not have negative people around the club.

We, the fans, demanded that we get our club back and Methven was trying to do this. We got 46,000 fans on boxing day and that was because of Methven's drive which is something that had been missing for many years at board level.

By no means does he get off scot free as he has said some daft things. However, the fact remains is that he and Donald have dedicated a lot of their life over the last few years to trying to help us get back to where we should be , probably more so than any owners we've had previously and they brought the good feeling back.

Correct- I heard methven struggle a few times when he sat with marketing in the tavern ot Hilton trying to get ideas from the group and they here dead ad a door nail

My views
Maja comes across terribly but will probably get more clubs watching him in France. But on the same token I'm not going to be a hypocrite and say I wouldn't have done what he done

Charlie Methven full career is about public Relations and he has struck gold because he is the main character on the show and his profile will be boosted enormously by the show

Stewart Donald actually cared. But he just hasn't got the finances to take the club forward. look at his reaction at Portsmouth away.. He look drained... Who the hell would be a football owner? Overspending on Grigg and not spending In the last transfer window was his biggest mistake...incredibly stupid errors on both counts

The fans come accross magnificently except the idiot who abused Flanagan in the supermarket.

But £10 million for Marquis.... Jesus

Josh Maja is a lying sly twat if that helps anyone reading this.

He was a young lad. 18/19 at the time? How many of us would know what the correct thing to say or do in that situation? At first you could see that it wasn't bothering him but as the cameras focused on him more and more you could see that he was under a lot of pressure and he was having issues dealing with it.

Either way, I don't begrudge him. He's playing for a better team at a better level and he's playing and scoring goals for them. Asoro could have taken a leaf out of his book as he did come across as a really immature young man and that has been proved by his lack of progress since he left.

Involving footage of Farage and Brexit at the start of episode 5 was a big mistake in my opinion. Got fuck all to do with SAFC

I know. I was so vexed, I nearly threw my slipper at the tele when I saw Farage's smug annoying face.

Looks like some of the managerial staff working at the club are dum fuks & need getting shot of ASAP.
