Stewart Donald Podcast - questions

You're massively missing the point though. Not all of us still live in Shiney Row and have Saturdays free without repsonsibilities.

For every committed fan in say Kent who is prepared to get up for every home game (and spend the money need to get there and the entire day away from his wife/kids/dogs) there will be dozens who would quite happily pay £6/£10 or whatever to watch the lads for 90 minutes.

The club would be stupid to ignore those fans if they can easily be brought into the fold and bring some cash in.

Streams are for geeks thrapping one off in the box room I did a 14 hr rund trip last week, plus all the proppa commentary's on the RTG thread....

Ooh look at me, I'm healthy enough and wealthy enough for a 14-hour round trip to watch the lads. Pathetic.

What input has Juan had thus far?

He said Juan would prove invaluable with scouting South America, has there been any plans put into place as to how that would work?

Have they started to plan long-term or is it still at a reactionary stage?

Charlie spoke of throwing our weight about at academy level to take other teams players, has this been put into action yet?

While the staff at the academy have been moved about, has there been any plans put in place to improve the number of players we have coming through the academy further?

How involved is Jack Ross in the academy strategy?

Appreciate that questions are generally more about peoples individual gripes. Mine being that when people are leaving early, now with no TV's on downstairs fans congregate around the walkways, making viewing difficult unless stood, which in turn causes issues with people behind etc. Stewards dont seem aware/bothered about it.

I know their reasoning for turning the tv's off, but in doing so they are affecting fans who do stay until the end

£10 is OTT like, how much is a Sky Sport pass for a week, £12.99?
Plus when we all tried to pretend be from overseas (I mean when I was overseas) that link didn't work :)

I pay £10.99 for all sky sports channels on their mobile app. I just mirror the app from my phone to TV and the quality is great, its sky sports after all so I see your point. Think the club could be offering a per month deal like sky sports do, even sumit like £20 a month.

It's amazing how quickly this situation has turned into a vehicle for people to piss and moan about little gripes rather than an opportunity to ask interesting questions.

How many more of these do you think he's going to bother to do if all it ends up being is a list of petty grievances and people wanting more for less? If it were me I'd feel completely unappreciated given the hard work is put in and how the club have started the season.

We're doing well on the pitch but I suppose our lot are only happy if they've got something to whinge about. f***ing hell.

We've got streams this year, we didn't last year. If you think it's poor value/quality don't buy them. I don't recall anyone on here getting up in arms when the last lot didn't even bother to offer us this service yet there are plenty wiling to have a go at the club now because it's not good enough.

A lot of the questions posed this far sound entitled and it's becoming a free for all for the sort of people who are always on the lookout for the chance to say "can I speak to your manager" in any transaction.

he's not daft. he know's what type of questions are going to be asked as it's basically a Q&A session.

it's more good PR. look at the owner, he speaks to the fans and answers their questions etc..

Roker Report on Twitter

I might get wrong for posting this but I'm only doing so as a few posters mentioned in the past they'd like to put their questions forward and didn't know how.

We're writing the plan for the show at about 1pm so if you think there's anything we need to ask that hasn't already been covered off in the replies, please do.

For each of these shows we've ensured that all of the questions we ask come from fans just like you and I that have got in touch to put theirs forward, and in my opinion with each case we've been able to cover just about everything we possibly can.

The show is recording tomorrow and will be available from 7am on Sunday morning.

I love that strip, for me simply the best SAFC home strip ever (No Hun sorry Pun intended).
Can I make a genuine suggestion that this strip be an automatic Home choice for the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons as a 50th Anniversary Celebration.
That should be enough time for SAFC to sort, shouldn't it ? Cheers HTL with three A's

Replies to my comment re "50SAFC73"were positive and suggested it should be a project worthy of discussion at a much senior level eg Stuart/Donald.

With the reported possible sacking / suing of Ndong, how would such a situation affect the deal SD has with Short for his future transfer fee? Is it something Donald and Short have discussed or are planning to discuss?

IMO leave the past in the past. Let's not dilute our memory of that strip and the legends that wore it by having another set of players wear it for a season.

It's time to make new memories with new strips, not clamour for the days we won a cup 50 years ago.

IMO I don't see a problem in respecting / celebrating the history and tradition of OUR great club. However, opinions can and do vary, obviously.
Cheers HTL with three A's !

Oh I agree that there's nothing wrong with respecting and celebrating our history, and I'd be all for the idea of some sort of 50 year anniversary celebration party / event or something, I just would feel weird about reusing the strip for a season.

Maybe get the current lads to dress up in it for a photo shoot for a day, or even to play a friendly against Leeds in it.

It wouldn't be exactly the same if we did use the design for the year anyway, as we'd have to have the league badges, sponsor etc on it.

Would you want to see that iconic old strip with Betdaq or similar across the front?

I don't know if it's been asked before, but are the club going to get some meat on the bones of the club website? Things like the players photos on the Team pages, and staff photos on the staff pages. Us exiles have trouble working out who is who, as we rarely see them play, and I for one used to rely on those pages to get my bearings.

Frankly, the entire website is a mess.

Just Google them
