Stewart Donald Podcast - questions

Something very minor. However, it seems to be accepted that home teams generally like to attack the home end in the second half. So why do we attack the north stand in the second half and the South stand in the first? It makes no sense to me and does my head in

I suggested on here making the rate for corner tickets the same for whole north stand. Looks awful a third full, emptiest part of the bowl by far.

When are we going to tie the young lads like Maja, Embleton down to long term contracts?

This! Gooch, Honeyman, Maja, Embleton iirc

Also are we putting a proper scouting system in place?

It seems in the past we’ve relied heavily on agents coming to us with players, rather than be proactive ourselves. Are we looking to mix that up a bit?

They're the tickets they hold back for pay on the gate anarl.

I wouldn't even say its unreasonable to expect replays on key moments and for them to overlay the commentary which they already sell separately on the site.

Thinking about it, the beeb have probably paid the league for exclusive rights to commentary, so we mightn't even be allowed to have it on the video feeds at all.

Given the empty seats galore in the posh bits (centre of West stand) is he tempted to lower prices or potentially offer an upgrade from a season ticket for a match for a fee obviously! I'll be honest and say I don't know the exact price it used to be 125 + vat. For the same returns (3 course meal, programme, great seat etc) it's £60 at Burton for their hospitality.

I know we have a much better stadium than Burton, but I think it looks poor with loads of empty seats in West stand.

I'm well aware this isn't important mind

The commentary is BBC Radio Newcastle isn't it? If we just overlayed that on the video feed we'd be sued for copyright infringement.

On the other hand, I agree that some kind of commentary might be a nice option, although I have enjoyed turning the volume up and just listening to the crowd and match sounds on the feeds, so if it was an option for the individual listener to have or not have the commentary I'd probably choose to not have it on my feeds.

I don't understand how its copyright infringement when they already sell it elsewhere on the site, and also use the commentary in their highlight videos? Could be wrong like.

At the moment, we don't even have the score in the corner of the screen for first team matches, whereas it is on there for U23 matches. This says to me that there's probably rules against having it for first team games, as oppose to it being a choice not to have it.

There are probably reasonable explanations for all of it so will be nice to hear them.

The beeb own the copyright on their radio output. If you just take that output, stick it over a video and sell it as your own product then it absolutely is copyright infringement.

Would you be happy if I took the audio from one of your podcasts and stuck a video over it and sold it as my own product?

Ditto the boxes, slash em to £80 a man for one season only, maybe to only folk whove held a st a decade.

Shit that excludes me. Paid on the gate last year.

It was reported in the summer that we pretty much sacked the whole recruitment team and revamped it.

Obviously we know about Tony Coton but it’d be great to get some more information on the changes.

I’ve been wanting him to be asked about it in other podcasts but I’ve never seen it brought up really.

Fair enough didn't know that! Just checked the Montgomery suite is now £108 + vat, which is still just shy of 50 quid more than Burton.

I feel like even if they lowered it to £60/70 we'd sell loads more. Easy for me to say without being in charge of money like

I think there are a few clubs on IFollow who have their own add-ons in place. I think Preston had commentary from the radio on theirs last season and as you said, Gillingham had a scoreboard and commentary. I am sure we could do more on ours.

Ask if we can have someone different on the mic at half time, he’s f***ing annoying.
And sack off the crossbar shite too

Ask him if there's plans to get some different beer available on the concourse?
Local brews like Maxim, Darwin and Sonnet.
Also can they get the pints pulled faster at half time.

The majority of folks don't like that stuff so if it was keg they wouldn't have the turnover needed. Bottled is another issue.

Like going to Iceland and asking for foie gras ;)
