correct! would anyone like to hazard a guess as to the very MIMIMUM number of stewards (club, protector and/or event cover) needed to legally operate on a matchday!

PS: SM you may know this, so please dont answer!

Too many until they change the law to something more reasonable. Not that i want you to lose your job or anything.

:lol::lol:

folk are getting the wrong end of the stick here. We've got the worst stewards in the league (with the exception of one or two)

do you know, recently we (SAFC) were told by a neighbouring team's head of security, that we have far far better stewards compared to his own club"

You can ensure the safety of those in attendance without ganging up on the kids, manhandling people, throwing people around and generally being unapproachable cockheads. Unfortunately the majority on this board only have to deal with the yella coats which are the most placid and approachable. Try telling a blue coat summit and he'll watch over you for 10 f***ing minutes after he's telt you to sit down and be quiet.

I wonder why they have different colour coats!

Newcastle? That would be because their stewards act like f***ing human beings. If someone causes massive problems, they're out, if a group of lads want to get passionate, they're allowed to do. FFS newcastle even brought in their singing section where the stewards stood and watched on whilst the daft lads STOOD and sang all game. Not an ounce of trouble. Why is this so bloody impossible to grasp? Your view (and probably the view of said security guy) is stewards are doing a fantastic job if they're enforcing the letter of the law and throwing folk out willy nilly.

they shouldn't have. It basically gives the bluecoats the authority to do as they please despite the fact they're there to do the same job as yella coats.

The blue coats are know as TRU (or Tatical Response Unit - amongst other names given to them by people on this board)

cannit imagine stewards at wembley are heavy handed. Most games are tourist attractions, pointing folk to their seats and saying have a nice day. But yeah, sure you know an awful lot more than the rest of us that deal with the dickheads at the SOL on a regular basis.

Apart from the odd p*sstaker and drunk I never had any problems but the Blue Coats were always in the background to get "heavy handed" when necessary.

i.e. stand back, make a tactical decision, move in and remove as said in a previous post.

did you attend the Derby game last month @ SJP? If so did you (or anyone else) notice if our stewards came into the ground with you and stayed for any/all of the match

not enough jumped up hitlers to fill the vacancies?

people leave, get other/ FT jobs which obviously then become a priority and maybe have to work weekends and/or shift work, or envietably get made redundant from their proper/first jobs, and then working at the Stadium just isn't worth it by the time the jobcentre take £20 per match off you!
