He was somewhere he shouldn't have been, deserves anything he got.

Him being a tit makes the stewards etc.. protecting the pitch look like incompetent pricks so they deserve to give him a bit of a hard time, imo.

no chance. he did no harm, if hes banned its a disgrace really

doesnt make it right. hopefully he just gets a fine

Fine would probably be fair like, but he cannot complain if he does get a ban.

But clubs have to stamp down on people running on the pitch. Only a matter of time before something happens to a player. The stewards have no idea who is just having a celebrate and who could be actually carrying a knife or summit.

I always wondered if it is for the safety of the players etc why the stewards rarely go on the pitch to get these celebrating fans off and wait for them to come back into the stand and then grab them and march them off.

Players always run to the corners so stewards should be anticipating some fans getting a bit over excited and jumping the barrier imo.

I thought the police looked a lot more reasonable with the lad than the stewards were. The stewards were marching him to the cells but it looked like the police were just going to chuck him out unless they were planning on taking to the cells around the ground.

Hopefully common sense prevailed and he was just chucked out and given a stern warning.

Agreed, although it has little relation to your 2nd point in my eyes. Someone intent on causing harm to a player through the use of a knife is hardly going to be put off because clubs/police have been stamping down on people entering the field of play with heavy fines and banning orders

aye obviously stewards need to stop people going on the pitch but once theyre on i think it has to be judged on its own merit. celebrating- slap him on the wirst with a fine at the most. violence- ban

They have been lucky so far. They will pick on the wrong person/group sooner or later and have some serious disorder on their hands.

doubt it, they get the odd punch etc every now and then. thats as bad as itll get

There was a git fat fucker steward sat in front of me in the East Stand - after we went 2-1 up I asked him if he would mind wedging himself in our goal.

The stewards are not to blame - who wouldn't get a bit fucked off being paid £30 a game to take shit off a load of pissed up arseholes who aren't adult enough to obey the law.

Me. I'd accept that i'd chosen to do the job and was not forced to be there, and as such qould look to carry it out in a professional manner.

If I was getting fucked off with it, I'd resign.

How would you afford the pasties ;)

Most of them do it in a very professional manner and receive training in crowd control, first aid and fire fighting. Dealing with arseholes sometimes makes you lose your loaf.

After our second goal , a kid in a yellow top jumped the barriers and celebrated with the players. Yes, it is against the rules to do that but fuck me, did they go over the top. They damned near assaulted the kid:evil:
f***ing arseholes.

aye..watched it too...arsehole for going onto the pitch ...BUT

total over reaction by the stewards disproportionate to the offence. he may have cause for assault by the stewards?

He ran on to celebrate a goal wow f***ing wee.

If the stewards werent incompetent pricks they would be able to handle very minor situations like these without becoming heavy handed

How did they go over the top? Did they assault him? Soft targets stewards, it seems to me. If your matchday was ruined by moronic behaviour around you then youd soon complain.Would you prefer the police?

You are a steward. Don't stand so close to me.

Never seen the incident, but if people can't obey the ground rules set by SAFC what do you expect, when you enter the field of play.

I'm not sure how fans can complain, especially when they cant follow rules, especially rule: 15.3 which is set out as an arrestable offences under the Football (Offences) Act 1991 (as amended) with possibly conviction resulting in a Banning Order

I didn't see it either, but more than one person has told me today that the stewards went way ott. I tend to believe them.
