Looks red and black. Is it not one of those half and half scarves that are produced for european matches? Stevenage on one end and Newcastle on the other.

Stevenage manager Graham Westley confirmed that Laird had been poleaxed by the blow in an incident which marred the most glorious night in their history.

Westley said: "Scott Laird was stood celebrating with the fans and a fan just came over and smashed him from the side. He went to the ground and it is a shame for the afternoon to end in that way.

"He is a bit bewildered. He (the fan) gave him a right-hander, just smashed him across the cheek and knocked him to the ground.

"He said to me, 'It's lucky I've got a big head to take it.' It was a sad way for things to end."

Stance how there was loads of camera shots with people holding them then.

really? steeve' have no collection with black, or never did all my years there , i never saw black on the scarves etc

Having thought about it more, I doubt a Mag will have doen it. I reckon the Stevenage bloke will have tried it on with the 'bashers' around the town. Fair play to the Stevenage fan if this is the case, his plan came together a treat.

cup games always see "specials" on sale. When we went to Hearts for a friendly there were 50/50 scarves arl ower

There were loads of half n half scarves but the lad had a red n White scarf. E then goes over and joins in the celebrations waves his scarf and heads for the side. If he was a mag he's a twat but having hit the lad why would he then celebrate with other players, nearest the mags and then head back to a home area? I've watched it a few times and I think he was after the players shirt and then just hit him. Mentalist.

That's one hell of a guess.

As for fair play.

been mentioned on twitter it was a stevenage fan who got refused a shirt

-Maybe it was a Mag who knicked the scarf and went for the pitch
- Maybe it was a stevenage fan who had an agenda against that particular player for some reason

There won't be unless the fella gets arrested and questioned.

I'm sure if the fan had said anything ie the wanting the shirt story then the player would have told his manager when he told him a fan twatted him and his manager would have then mentioned it in the interview
