Steven Gerrard is Rangers manager

He'll be able to attract better players to Rangers than 99% of the alternative managers they could have got to Ibrox. Whilst it's a massive challenge, I think this really could be a huge moment for a Rangers revival - he's certain to be respected by players playing at that level and he's had some rave reviews as a coach, albeit at youth level. Like mentioned previously, there's a load of managers who've taken a big job as their first and been a success. It's a pure myth that you must start low and build up.

Strange two people to pick The Eagle I get he was a whopper but Bruno was a World Champion who only lost 5 of 45 fights.

How I picked Bruno was because he beat McCall and then never defended his title. Lost it to Tyson in his next fight then retired.
He had 5 title fights, lost 4 of them.

I get that but if your picking a boxer I could give you about 10 better examples fair enough though

In terms of a poorer career maybe, but not sure many get the love Bruno gets.
Lennox Lewis undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, avenged his only two defeats, iirc made a record number of title defences, but it appears the public love Bruno more as he put on a tutu and done a bit panto and was a bit of a character. Oh and he also "hurt Tyson" before getting absolutely mullered off him

Zidane

Mourinho

Gullitt

Vialli

Kenny Dalglish

Graeme Souness

There's probably hundreds of others
Mourinho and Zidane had management experience before porto/madrid.

Rest were player managers so a tad different. Walter Smith was doing souness job for a large period of his management at rangers.

Zidane managed real madrid B team, Mourinho had two jobs before Porto.
His first one was Benfica.

All he has to do next season is finish 2nd and win a cup and it will be their most succesful.season in years, im not sure i would back him to do that, esoecially if Rogers stays with Celtic. I think it will have a reverse effect and make Celtic try a tiny bit harder than they have
