Steve Smith

About time people moved on from this. It’s been 5 years ffs, he did his time and that should be the end of it. There’s far far worse people playing cricket who don’t get the stick he does.

That he has and have no issue with him playing, that's for sure. Having said that, he should be nowhere near leadership positions. Cric Auz haven't changed either. Still big heads.

I've got to disagree there. There is a sliding scale with cheating and ball tampering I agree. But there is a difference with putting saliva soaked with sugar on the ball and using a hand tool reserved usually for smoothing wood.

What makes me really sick is the treatment Bancroft is getting from them. Leading county run scorer for them for the last 2 seasons and still no where near replacing Warner as opener. Who has just been given a heroes send off after allowed to decide when he retires. Now we have Smith being slowly inched back to being captain.

Out of the 3 that got caught. Only Bancroft is still paying for 'sandpapergate', because he had the temerity to tell the truth. The bowlers knew and this wasn't the 1st time they had sanded the ball.
I’m simultaneously of the view that sandpapering the ball was wrong and deserved punishment, and that Steve Smith is still a brilliant batsman who has served his punishment, and I’d still rather watch Test matches where batsmen the calibre of Steve Smith play. And with that said, I’m not really bothered weather that’s in the position of captain or not.

Shakib must be one of the worst blokes going
Truly despicable agreed.

He is, there's no denying that he's a great. Just a cheating great imo.

Nah, you're okay mate. I love seeing them squirm.

2. IIRC Shami hasn't been found guilty of anything yet either.
3. Both cases have nothing to do with cricket.
4. It's possible to dislike more than one person, it isn't pie
5. I expect you're Australian but can't be arsed to check your posting history

Dismissal of Mathews was cheating, aye. As bad as running Bairstow out from a dead ball.

I actually don't mind the Bairstow run out/stumping. Carey released it as soon as he caught it, not like he waited and waited for YJB to leave his crease before throwing. Everyone knows you don't leave your crease until over is called, and that the ball is still live until then.

Just a bit silly from YJB imo

The umpire was on his way to square leg. Reasonable to assume it was over and he simply hadn't heard it.
